Horror Movie News: Aladdin The Monkey's Paw enters production soon

 

A whole new world. It's a spooky story you never knew.

Or you kind of do. If you've read the story of The Monkey's Paw by W.W. Jacobs, then you probably know how this story is connected to the latest horror movie that is headed to production, Aladdin: The Monkey's Paw.

In The Monkey's Paw, a man, Mr White, finds a Monkey's Paw that can grant him three wishes...with strings attached. The protagonist doesn't seem to care about the consequences of the wishes and abuses the power of the Monkey's Paw.

In the end, Mr White's son dies, and the family gets the £200 he had wished for. His mother uses the Paw to bring him to life and gets terrified when he returns. Mr White then makes a final wish to undo it.

In the Disney version of Aladdin, the protagonist had a side kick, Abu, who was a monkey.

So, let's assume in the horror version, it's Abu's Paw that will be misused? Let's hope Aladdin doesn't sever his best friend's paw to make the wishes.

In the official synopsis, Aladdin is living in London and inherits the Monkey's Paw that can grant wishes, but he soon discovers that every wish comes at a price. People around him fall victim to the curse, and Aladdin will have to face the demonic force that feeds on all evil.

Since the character's name is Aladdin, will there be a Jasmine as well?

Not much has been revealed about the project except that production will begin sometime in May.
