Shook-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After fellow influencers begin to get murdered, Mia must find a way to save herself when she finds out she's the next target.  People think being an influencer is easy. After all, what does their "job" actually entail? Posing for pictures? Taking pictures of random objects and sunsets and their fancy drinks? Must be pretty easy? Right? Well, not exactly. While influencers have their work cut out for them by staying relevant, they are also a target for vicious trolling. And in the case of Shook, a target for murder.

Wrong Turn-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A group of friends take a wrong turn during a hike and come across a group of people in the mountains who have sinister intentions.  We are officially living in an era where reboots are taking precedence over original stories. It is as if the filmmakers have raised their hands, and accepted defeat for the fact that there is a dearth of original stories. So what plans have they come up with? To make reboots of every movie in the past few decades that have even remotely worked. So now, it is the turn of Wrong Turn, a horror movie about inbred cannibals that sparked at least five sequels. But if you are thinking about a revisit to the family of cannibals, then you are going to be disappointed. No cannibals here. So what exactly to these six unsuspecting friends find when they take a wrong turn? A couple of boring people who like to dress up as the early men.

Monkey's Paw-- Analysis of the short story by W.W. Jacobs

You have three wishes. You can ask for anything you want. What would you ask for? No doubt the first story that came to your mind when you read three wishes was Aladdin. Aladdin found a lamp from which a genie emerged who then granted him three wishes. Now imagine if whatever Aladdin wished for, had horrific consequences? What if it was a horror story? Monkey's Paw is basically about the consequences of desiring something and having it come true. Like they say: be careful what you ask for, it may just come true. The story is about a family of three; Mr and Mrs White, and their son Herbert. When we first meet them, they are having a joyful evening with father and son playing chess. Not long after, they are visited by Sergeant-Major Morris who has just returned from his service in India. He narrates several tales from his time in India but Mr White is interested in the talisman his friend had mentioned earlier. Reluctantly, the Sergeant-Major brings out the mummified Monkey's p

The Reckoning-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: After her husband commits suicide, Grace is preyed upon by her landlord who accuses her of being a witch after she rejects him. Grace relies on her faith to get through her ordeal. Over a couple of years, there have been movies promoting feminism but some of them have been so over the top, just to please SJW, that what we get to see is a ridiculous plot where men are completely incompetent. Even as a woman it is uncomfortable to watch how the story is twisted to the point that it is the men who need saving while the female characters manage to "save the day" is nothing short of a miracle. Somehow a crocodile doesn't attack only the women. A serial killer whose main target is a woman manages to kill all her friends and especially her guy friends only to be outwitted by the protagonist in the end. So when The Reckoning began and the focus was on Grace as she read the suicide letter her husband left behind, I cringed and not only because the actress hammed thro

Willy's Wonderland-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A drifter is the town's only hope against a group of demonically possessed animatronics.  Writing pitches are supposed to be really challenging. A couple of words is what can guarantee a sale of your work. So while watching Willy's Wonderland, I wondered what the pitch must have been: A movie where the animatronics are possessed by serial killers and attack everyone in town. And...wait for it...the hero will not utter a single word throughout the movie. Now one would think that this pitch, okay not those exact words, must have been rejected immediately. I mean, funny-looking animal robots, possessed by serial killers...really? And with this kind of theme, you would expect a weird, comical movie. Guess what? It works. You know what makes it work? Nicolas Cage, who else?

Fear of Rain-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A girl with schizophrenia, suspects her neighbour of kidnapping a girl. Of course, no one believes her.  Your mind can be your worst enemy, the one that creates chaos in your little world. There are several sayings pertaining to how anger, jealousy, hate is posion that we've created for ourselves and needs to be replaced with positive thoughts. Sometimes though, that isn't possible. Mental disorders can cause havoc with your daily life. The one thing we take for granted, our sanity, can betray us at the worst possible moment.
