Horror Weekly News: NATTY KNOCKS trailer drop. Maggie Q stars in brand new thriller FEAR THE NIGHT.

Things aren’t looking too great for babysitters in horror movies.  Over the past few decades, there have been several horror movies based on the villain stalking the protagonist and killing all their friends before the final showdown.

Choose or Die-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Kayla comes across a retro interactive game, she thinks it is an easy way to win money not knowing that playing the game brings about dire consequences. When we choose to play a game, it is usually because we like the graphics, the story, or the gameplay.

Kana From Hell: Part Ten

It was when they disembarked from the boat that Kana was struck with a feeling of dread.

Horror Book of the Week: ABANDON

This week’s HORROR BOOK OF THE WEEK is ABANDON . Written by Blake Crouch, the book was published in January 2023 and is on the bestsellers list for Ghost Mysteries and Horror Suspense.

Intervention-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After Laura loses her memory, she must rely on her friends to help her remember what happened. However, she soon realizes her friends may be lying to her. Ever since the pandemic hit and film shootings had to be halted due to safety measures, we had to wait for  lot of anticipated movies to release. A lot of movies had delayed releases, some releasing after more than a year. And then there were some movies that didn't receive a theatrical release and came straight to streaming platforms. I would imagine some studious must have lost money when movies didn't release on time or because the movies didn't get  a fair chance at the box office because it didn't get a theatrical release.

Horror Weekly News--Cinderella gets her Revenge. Antony Starr in horror movie Cobweb.

Cinderella is out for revenge.  Following the announcement of a gory film called CINDERELLA'S CURSE being directed and produced by Louisa Warren, the classic fairytale will see a new, violent twist with the announcement of Cinderella’s Revenge.

The Couch--My take on the short movie with spoilers!

Plot: A woman gets a free couch from Marketplace but soon finds herself dealing with an odd situation. Who doesn't like a good shopping deal? Especially when the item is completely free? But things are never free in life and usually there are strings attached to anything you are supposed to get for free. Isn’t it why they say you should always read the fine print? As if there isn’t a lot to consider before buying things online, along comes a horror story to make you wary of buying things online. You may have seen movies where a trespasser hides behind walls in big houses. Now, you get to see the intruder hiding in furniture. THE COUCH Plot A woman gets help from her friend to move in a couch with storage into her apartment. At night, she heads back to her room. We hear crickets but that's not what is odd about this night. A man creeps out of the storage space and heads inside the kitchen. The next morning, the woman finds empty food packets and realizes her cereal is almost o

This week’s HORROR BOOK OF THE WEEK is THE HAUNTED HOUSE FROM HELL . Written by Mark L’Estrange, this book was published in March 2021 and is still on the bestsellers list for British Horror Fiction and Ghost Thrillers.

Room 203-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: When Kim and Izzy move into a new apartment they are unaware of its dark history. Soon it begins to affect their lives. You'll find more horror movies on haunted homes and apartments than anything else, but that is because there is a staunch belief that people who reside in a place for a long time end up leaving behind a residue of emotions when they move. Sometimes it is the negativity that they leave behind which culminates and manifests into something evil.

Amazon Prime Video’s new TV series, T HE HORRORS OF DOLORES ROACH has a new trailer.

The Sunset Superstition

If there is one thing you'll find in every amateur photographer's social media profile, is a picture of a sunrise or sunset.

Horror Book of the Week: THE PATH OF THORNS

This week’s HORROR BOOK OF THE WEEK is THE PATH OF THORNS . Written by A.G. Slatter, this book was released in June 2022 and was published by Titan Books.  The book is on the bestseller’s list for Fairytale Fantasy and Folklore.  The story has been described as a gothic fairytale and reviewers have praised the author for creating a spellbinding tale that will keep you captivated until the very last page of the book. We meet Asher and see her walking over to the house where she would work as a governess. The author has p

The Suppression of Hannah Stevenson-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Matt and Hannah's happy vacation turns sour after an argument which leads Hannah to seek out a gypsy and drink a potion with dangerous side effects. Do you know what one should do when they are on vacation in a foreign country? Go on tours, learn the culture, and perhaps even a little bit of the foreign language. Kana From Hell: Part Seven

Kana took a step back as the Tenjo Kudari crept closer to her. Her hands turned backward and she chuckled as she moved forward, making a sickly slapping sound against the floorboards.

Horror Short Story Review: Rainy Season by Stephen King

PLOT SUMMARY: John and Elise visit a small town during Rainy Season unaware that it isn't the rain they need to be concerned about. It isn't often that a story has the capacity to instill fear into me. I know I'm reading a fiction piece; I know not to let it affect me. As a writer I try to learn from what I read which is why I perhaps don't completely immerse myself as a reader would. I do study the story but more as a means to educate myself. And then I came across Rainy Season , a short story from Stephen King's Nightmares and Dreamscapes , and my resolution to be unaffected by anything I read was thwarted.

Horror Book of the Week: A Ship of Bones and Teeth by Karina Halle

A SHIP OF BONES & TEETH is this week’s HORROR BOOK OF THE WEEK. Written by Karina Halle , this book was published in May 2023 and has already reached the bestseller’s list for Dark Fantasy Horror.

X-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: A group of filmmakers, rent out a house on the farm to make an adult movie. When the elderly hosts find out what they are up to, the filmmakers have to try to survive the night. In a movie titled X you would not be mistaken in assuming that the story would revolve around a lot of adult situations. The poster definitely hints at it too. So in a movie that is one hour and forty five minutes, one hour of it is generously given away to a theme that is supposed to titillate and does little to set up the "villains" of the movie.

Horror Weekly News: Black Mirror Season Six Trailer Drop!

The Emmy award-winning show is back after four years.  Black Mirror, the British sci-fi anthology series, will premiere its sixth season on Netflix.

Kana From Hell: Part Six

Kana knew something was wrong when she saw her house ahead. Her mother always set a lantern outside after sunset. It was usually so that Hiroto could find his way back home after drinking most of the night.
