Intrusion-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Meera discovers dark secrets about her husband Henry after a home invasion.   Twelve years can be a long time to get to know someone. Or so you would think. In twelve years, you are bound to learn some secrets about a person that they didn't share at least in the first year you've met them. There is probably an odd habit that surfaces in twelve years. There definitely were some arguments along the way too. And then you or your partner falls sick and that becomes a true test as to how committed both of you are to each other. An illness can make or break a relationship. Twelve years of togetherness should be enough to develop comfort with each other. There is an ease in the way you talk to that person, not concerned that you may have to filter out some things. Twelve years. It is a long time. And it is the amount of time Meera and Henry have been married in the movie Intrusion.

Chorri-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A pregnant woman finds herself in a dangerous situation when she goes to a remote village with her husband. There have been several stories over the years, all of them pertaining to saving the girl child in India. There have been protests, campaigns, informative ads, all of them urging people to save the girl child. Has it worked? While the message may have changed a few people's minds, the statistics still show that foeticide and the killing of female babies still go on. After all, girls are seen as burdens on the family. When they are to be married, the in-laws will ask for dowry. Girls are seen as the reason a family makes a financial loss and no amount of comparing them to deities of wealth seems to change the minds of narrow-minded people. Although dowries are considered illegal, it is still a practice among Indians during weddings and one that doesn't seem to be ending. Rather than do something about this so that parents of girls don't feel financia

Plot Summary: When Pim and her brother Putt go live with their grandparents after their mother goes into a coma, they discover a hole in the wall visible only to them that shows them shocking secrets. Remember the movie “Meet the Parents”? There’s always that sense of dread attached to whether or not your partner’s parents would approve of you or not. Incantation (2022)-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT: Six years ago, Li Ronan and her boyfriend and his cousin, break a taboo. Li Ronan must now find a way to lift the curse before it claims her daughter. There's nothing worse than being duped by people you go out of your way to help. We see someone hurt or sick and try to help them only to find out they have been lying to you the whole time and only wanted your money. Kind of makes you lose faith in humanity, doesn’t it? To the point, that when someone actually desperate for help comes along, you may not want to trust them.

Horror Book of the Week: The Marionettes

And the Horror Book of the week is… The Marionettes by Katie Wismer.  The book was published last year but still finds itself on the bestsellers list for Dark Fantasy.

Horror Weekly News: The prequel to X, Pearl gets a trailer. The Simpsons does IT.

After the movie X was released earlier this year, it was revealed that a prequel to the movie titled ‘PEARL’ was shot back to back with X.  X introduced the character of Pearl who turns out to be a sadistic killer along with her husband Howard. The elderly couple, are clearly not as innocent as the group of aspiring actors and filmmakers make them out to be. By night’s end, the group are viciously killed by the couple.

Yellowjackets-- My take on the TV show with Spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: A high school soccer team, on their way to a tournament. become survivors of a plane crash. They must now rely on each other to survive the wilderness and deal with a supernatural occurrence. At first glance, Yellowjackets resembles an iconic show from the early 2000s. Remember LOST? Yellowjackets may have characters getting stranded after surviving a plane crash but that is where the similarities end. Yellowjackets is a well-written, immersive show that can get addicting. The show boasts of a good star cast and it is quite noticeable how well the actors mold themselves into their characters.

Last Night in Soho-- My take on the movie with Spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY:  While visiting London, Eloise is able to enter the 1960s where she meets Sadie, an aspiring singer. After witnessing a murder, Eloise tries to get to the bottom of the mystery.  Nostalgia, it is an emotion which makes us yearn for a period which made us happy or one in which we think would make us happy. The world we are currently in can be overwhelming sometimes and the stress can make us wish we were anywhere else but here. And then we watch a period drama or play a video game based on a past era that makes everything seem so simple. This modern world with its modern problems simply won't exist. Of course, in our desire to escape our problems, we don't realize that the past has its own problems. Or the time we now see through rose-tinted glasses was problematic even then. Last night in Soho is one of those movies that is hauntingly beautiful. Is it a typical horror movie? Not really. Is it a great mystery? Again, not exactly. The interesting part of Last N
