The best horror movies I have watched in 2022

I have watched several horror movies this year and while not all of them were not exactly released in 2022, it is what I watched this year. So here's my list of the top 10 horror movies I enjoyed watching.

Horror Weekly News: Horror Movies coming in January!

2022 finally comes to an end and there were some pretty good horror movies released this year.  But next year will bring even more scares and thrills.

Ash and Bone(2022)-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot: Trying to get his daughter and new wife to bond, Lucas heads out to the countryside. However, when his daughter Cassie trespasses into a house, the whole family is put in danger. Teenagers in horror movies are usually temperamental, mostly into goth, and care little for their family until a terrible incident sets not only the movie in motion but also makes the teenager realize there is nothing more important than family. Ash and Bone follows the same route. However, despite the usual horror tropes, the movie does not skimp on the thrills. For the squeamish audience, this movie is a safe watch considering the violence is never exaggerated or graphic. ASH AND BONE Plot In the first scene, a woman is seen running about in fear in the middle of the night on an abandoned road. In the next instant, a truck stops, the driver gets out and murders her with an axe. The tone of the movie is set. Next we see a family in a car. It's not a happy road trip and the tension among the three

Mob Ghost-- My take on the short horror movie with spoilers!

Plot: George has a problem. He needs to get rid of a mobster spirit in his home. In most horror movies, once the owner of the house comes in contact with a house, there is that customary exorcism scene that helps get rid of the demonic ghost. But have you ever wondered what would happen if the exorcism ever failed? Or if the person performing the exorcism is inept? MOB GHOST Plot George is alone in his apartment, having dinner in front of his TV when he smells pasta. He goes to the kitchen to investigate, only to trip on a chair and experience something horrifying.  Desperate to rid his apartment of the ghost, he hires a paranormal investigator from Craigslist. Enter Pete, who was in Ghost Hunters.  Don't worry, in case you forget that fact, Pete will remind you every two minutes. That's the biggest qualification he has on his resume. Pete tells George that the supernatural entity in his house is Italian crime boss Paulie "The Butcher". The biggest concern is tha

The Legend of Amara

Not every legend is about a hero.  A girl called Amara was hailed as a hero. She was young when she defeated a pack of wolves and saved the town all on her own. In the process, she lost her life.

Horror Book of the Week: Silent Night

This week’s Horror Book of the Week is SILENT NIGHT written by R.L. Stine . The book is part of the Fear Street Chillers.  Growing up, I read plenty of Fear Street Books and SILENT NIGHT was definitely one of my favorites. The sequel not so much.

First Impressions: There's Something Wrong with the Children

One of the highly anticipated movies of 2023, There's Something Wrong with the Children has finally dropped a trailer.  The movie is one of Blumhouse's productions, so it has to be good right?  The story is about a family who takes a trip with family friends. During a hike, they come across a cave and are spooked by it. According to the trailer, come morning, the two kids have disappeared.  One of the parents finds the kids in the caves at the end of the hiking trail but before he can reach them, they fall.  The kids return but there is something off about him. Shortly after, there is murder and mayhem.  Clearly, there is something wrong with the kids.  Or is there? My guess: the kids were hurt and died. Zach Gilford's character feels guilty or holds the other parents responsible for what happened to the kids which is why he loses it and is behind all the "people-being-dragged-across-the-floor" incidents.  Let's see what happens on January 17th when the

Horror Weekly News: Yellowjackets Season 2 coming this March! Scream Teaser arrives.

Yellowjackets is finally making a comeback.

Christmas Bloody Christmas-- My take on the movie with Spoilers!

Plot: It's almost Christmas and Tori want to have fun with her friends. But a killer robotic Santa is on the loose to ruin the festivities. Horror slasher movies are no longer limited to the spooky season. For horror fans, horror movies during the Christmas season are the perfect gift.

Wednesday-- My take on the TV show with spoilers!

PLOT: When Wednesday Addams is sent off to Nevermore Academy, she finds herself embroiled in a mystery. The Addams family is kooky and spooky. When the cartoon aired in the 90s, it was a little hard to get into considering that it was quite different from the regular toons where characters boinked each other on the heads and it was considered comedy gold. It was about a family with a darker sense of humor. Subjecting each other to torture showed that they loved each other. It was unique and it did take some time to develop an interest in it but it happened.

Horror Book of the Week: The Christmas Bell

This week’s Horror Book of the Week is THE CHRISTMAS BELL , written by L.A. Detwiler .  The Christmas Bell is described as a disturbing paranormal thriller that will bring fear to the festive season.

Horror Weekly News: Robert Pattinson stars in Mickey 17. Scare Package sequel comes to Shudder.

From Director Bong Joon Ho comes another sci-fi thriller based on Edward Ashton’s critically acclaimed novel MICKEY 7.

The Leech--My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot: When Father David invites a homeless man to his house, he finds his faith tested when the man refuses to leave. It may be the season to be giving, and to be kind but it is also the time when some people take advantage of other people's generosity. You never really know if a person is telling the truth or not about their circumstances, do you?

Horror Book of the Week: The 12 Terrors of Christmas: A Christmas Horror Anthology

This week’s Horror Book of the Week is The 12 Terrors of Christmas: A Christmas Horror Anthology.  Enjoy this Christmas season with an anthology that will serve up a slice of fear.

Horror Weekly News: The Boys spin-off teaser drops. Teen Wolf Movie coming soon.

Following the popularity of THE BOYS on Amazon Prime, there has been a spinoff titled GEN V announced that will premiere sometime in 2023.  Gen V will be about young adults with superpowers who attend college, especially superhumans. Kind of like Xavier’s Institute for X-Men.

Separation-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After the death of his wife, Jeff finds that his daughter still speaks to her mother who will do anything to take care of her. When two people decide to separate, they are sometimes unaware of the problems they bring upon those people who are involved with them; these are mostly kids. Unfortunately,  divorce can adversely affect children, especially when the parent are always feuding over them. Separation is about what happens to Jenny after her parents decide to separate.

Disappointing Horror Movies of 2022

2022 has been a year of long-awaited awaited horror movies like SCREAM, Nope, Halloween Ends, and the sequel to Texas Chainsaw Massacre.  However, not all films ended up being successful and some of the highly anticipated movies were disappointing. Some, of course, were surprise hits.

Horror Book of the Week: Little Girls

This week’s Horror Book of the Week is Little Girls by Ronald Malfi . The novel was a Bram Stoker Award Finalist and reviewers have praised the novel for being chilling and terrifying.  The novel is on the bestsellers list for Ghost Fiction and Horror Suspense.

Horror Weekly News: Bambi gets a horror makeover

Before you can utter the words “childhood ruined”, here’s another classic tale that is going to be twisted into a horror tale.

The Barbarian-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT: A woman finds out that not only is her Airbnb house double-booked but that the house is not what it seems. You want a break. You've booked that Airbnb. Everything is set. You reach there after a long drive and guess what, someone is already staying there. Worse, no one is picking up the phone to sort out this issue. Things get worse. The house has some secrets of its own. Suddenly, it's about fighting to stay alive.
