Driven--My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Emerson, a cab driver, picks up a mysterious man with an odd request, she must try to survive the night.  I’ve often wondered about the stories taxi drivers and ride-sharing drivers must have. For us, the customers, calling a cab is a matter of convenience to take us from one destination to another. For the drivers, it’s a great chance to earn money and find more stories. Not many passengers must keep to themselves. Some might be taking personal calls, gossiping with their friends, revealing secrets and habits about themselves. The driver is sitting in front, part of the background, part of the car and the convenience to get to the destination. But here’s the thing, drivers have ears and they aren’t exactly made to sign confidentiality agreements, are they? So don’t be surprised, if a particular habit or piece of conversation makes it to a comedy routine of a driver who is moonlighting as a driver but is actually a stand-up comedian.

Relic-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: A grandmother, mother and daughter realize that a family curse is going to consume them all.  If you think about it, the houses that we live in, year after year, becomes a big part of you. It may not necessarily be a villa where you live. Even a rented apartment, quickly becomes a home the more time you spend in it, as it gathers all the good moments and bad ones you experience. So when you move eventually, don’t you experience some kind of heartbreak for leaving behind a place where you spent so much time in, his so many good memories? Unless of course, you experienced something tragic and then it’s a good thing you’re moving and starting anew elsewhere. Make memories in a new place. Ones that you cherish.

The Legend of Amara (Excerpt)

Excerpt from the book: CHAPTER ONE   Kiara Someri tried to ignore the constant snickering behind her. She already hated school; Shanaya's presence made it unbearable. Her arch-rival was at it again. Instead of listening to the History lesson droned on by Ms. Tivani, Shanaya was gossiping with her nitwit friends, Rami and Veena.

Becky-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When four convicts break into her family home, Becky takes it upon herself to defeat them.  As soon as a girl turns into a teenager, everyone assumes the worst. Oh no, she’s going to have mood swings. Oh no, she’s going to show so much attitude. It’s best to avoid her and leave her alone. In a way, most of it is true. Yes, teenage girls do suddenly transform from sweet little angels into moody young women but that is because their transformation into adulthood comes fairly early and suddenly they have to juggle too many things. Of course, there are some girls who are simply inherently mean and vindictive. Becky follows the story of well, Becky. But it isn’t her story alone.

Amara is here!

Excerpt CHAPTER ONE   Kiara Someri tried to ignore the constant snickering behind her. She already hated school; Shanaya's presence made it unbearable. Her arch - rival was at it again. Instead of listening to the History lesson droned on by Ms. Tivani, Shanaya was gossiping with her nitwit friends, Rami and Veena. "Ugh, those boots with th ose  jeans? Yuck!" Kiara bit the inside of her cheek. It must be Rami who said that. She must feel self-entitled to pass comments on style as she had proclaimed to be a fashionista. "That personality with that face?" Veena giggled. "Has she even heard of makeup?" "She's going for au naturel," Shanaya said a little loud so she could be heard by Kiara, "More like, oh no not for your skin type." More snickering. More ridiculous gossip. More distraction. Not that she wanted to pay attention in History class anyway. Kiara felt she would pick any career that would steer her far away from boring s

Browse-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Richard believes someone is trying to ruin his life by hacking into his devices.  Are you into jazz music? If you are, you’ll find yourself quickly changing your tastes after watching the movie. Good music should always accompany good scenes, so when you hear trumpets and pianos playing, and see a man on a terrace doing nothing but looking shabby and smiling cigarettes and drinking beers, the music is bound to sound like a blare. That’s is a major drawback of the movie; the music that tries to set a mood for the movie but fails because there is actually nothing going on. Another weak point is the lack of character introduction and subsequent development of it.

Scare Package-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When a new recruit is hired at the Horror Emporium, the owner and former employee try to scare him with horror stories.  If you watch a lot of movies and wonder who keeps cutting off the power or who keeps turning around the signboards to lead hapless victims to their demise from the hands of a demented killer, the answer is the very first shot of the movie. Scare Package is a tongue-in-cheek anthology of stories that rely on horror tropes. The challenge is in making these stories humorous, but given the concept, it could fall flat and the jokes could come off as unfunny. Because the humor here is exaggerated.

A New Horror Book coming soon!

Legend has it that a girl saved a whole town from wolves.  But not all legends are true... A new horror novel coming soon.

The Room-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Matt and Kate move into a new house that has a secret room that grants wishes. When Kate wishes for a child, the wish has some unexpected consequences.  If you could have everything you ever desire, would you truly be happy? Your first thought: well, obviously. Millions of dollars, good food, great clothes, all the luxuries...who isn’t going to be happy? But here’s the thing. What you desire is for that particular moment. It’s hot, you desire air conditioning. It’s cold, and you desire a blanket, warm coats, a fireplace, something hot to drink. Desire is a variable and that is why humans will never be satisfied. We will always want more, and in a way, that keeps us going. If we were completely satisfied with what we have, what would our motivation be to get up every day and do something with our lives? THE ROOM Movie Plot  For Kate and Matt, their motivation is to renovate a house. Isn’t the real horror renovating a house, and finding things almost impossible to repair?
