  Sixteen years ago, horror fans were treated to a mock trailer of a movie called THANKSGIVING . The trailer featured in a movie that was presented as a double feature called GRINDHOUSE .

  PLOT: After finding her roommate Elizabeth dead, Laura experiences a series of strange incidents that makes her realize that her life may be in danger. Remember the 90s and early 2000 sitcoms where people who didn't know each other, came to live together in an apartment and within an episode became the best of friends? By the time the series finale rolls out, at least two of the friends are romantically involved and getting married. Because of these shows, having a roommate sounds fun. Imagine having a friend for life? Imagine just hitting it off with them the very first time you meet them.

  This week’s Horror Book Recommendation is THE HAUNTING OF HANGNAIL HOUSE written by B.J. Conroy.  The book was published in May 2023 and sits on the bestseller list for Ghost Fiction. 

  Shirley Jackson, Henry James, Christopher Pike, and now Edgar Allan Poe. Mike Flanagan appears to be going through the popular works of famous horror authors. The Haunting of Hill House was one of Mike Flanagan's biggest hit, followed by Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and The Midnight Club.

  Plot: Esther escapes to America, posing as the missing daughter of the Albright family. But she soon meets her match in a mother who will do whatever it takes to protect her family. There's something wrong with Esther. There has always been something wrong with Esther. Except for a prequel, we still don't see how it all began. We don't see Esther...or should I say, Leena's biological family, nor her breakdown or her actual first kill. When we meet Esther in the prequel, she is already at the psychiatric facility and everyone is calling her Leena and the most dangerous patient they have there.

  You might not want to answer your door the next time you hear a knock.  In 2024, prepare for a trilogy of THE STRANGERS directed by Renny Harlin and produced by Courtney Solomon. 

  This week's Horror Book Recommendation is Stephen King's newest thriller HOLLY . HOLLY is about the character Stephen King created in Mr Mercedes, a novel published in 2014.

 PLOT: An influencer is forced to play a sick game when she does a giveaway on Halloween Night. For a while now, giveaways and unboxing videos have been quite a trend online. All you have to do is watch some online, subscribe to their channel and wait until they set up a giveaway and then answer the questions during a show. How easy is that? For the influencer too, it is a grand way to get more views and subscribers. It's a win-win situation.

  This week’s Horror Book Recommendation is I FOUND PUPPETS LIVING IN MY APARTMENT WALLS By Ben Farthing.  The book has been much talked about online and for a reason. This clever horror story has managed to creep out several readers using a new sub-genre in horror: puppets. 

  A mystery that spans over four different time periods? What is the connection? Netflix’s newest thriller has sparked interest with the release of the teaser for BODIES. 

  PLOT SUMMARY: A couple moves into a house for the weekend only to find it holds dark secrets. How amazing would it be to move into a house for the weekend that is designed by your favorite architect? It's akin to wearing a dress by your favorite designer. But would anyone wear clothes from designers knowing that they have a sordid past? It could be that they run sweatshops or that they kill a lot of animals or they have a nasty private life that is no longer private.

  This week’s Horror Book Recommendation is LITTLE RED HOUSE By Liv Andersson.  The novel was published in December 2022 and is on the bestseller list for Domestic Thrillers. 

  Iain Reed’s bestselling second novel FOE is now a major motion picture. The author of I’M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS also serves as a writer alongside Garth Davis in this movie that stars Saoirse Ronan, Paul Mescal, and Aaron Pierre. 

  PLOT SUMMARY: A group of undocumented immigrants are given an opportunity to have their charges dropped if they volunteer at a facility for the elderly. But nothing is what it seems. Have you wondered what goes in the food you eat. Yes, even those products that are marked as health foods. Are they really healthy?
