The Luring-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Garret tries to piece together his childhood memories so he can learn why he had to be institutionalized.  Red balloons are probably the most preferred by kids. It’s bright and signifies cheer. Of course, horror writers need to turn something that kids like into something that represents the presence of evil nearby. And usually, if there is a red balloon around, a creepy clown is also lurking by.

Two Heads Creek--My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When twins Norman and Annabelle go to a remote town in Australia to search for their birth mother, they soon come to realize that the people in the town have a dark secret.  You grow up. You follow your parents' career path. You dedicate all your time to it. You think, hey, I’m just following in my parent’s footsteps. Nothing wrong with it. It’s in my blood to do exactly what they did. But it turns out you’re not good at your job. Worse, you find out your parents are not really your parents. Now that’s confusing. You’ve learned the trade somewhat. You have an established store. But somehow the business isn’t running as it is supposed to be. Should you stay on and improve, or find out if you were meant to do something else? Perhaps your biological parents do something that you can take on. Two Heads Creek is deliciously funny and just as nauseatingly gory. Things seem off as the movie begins and by the end of it, you will be chuckling, yet disgusted.

Guess how it ends: The Lie

The trailer for The Lie has finally landed, and it does seem like a compelling thriller. Of course I can't wait to see it but I also can't help but feel like the trailer gave away some important plot points.  Kayla's friend does seem like a victim of abuse. When Kayla says that her friend's father was abusing his daughter, was that the lie or the truth?  My guess is that the  daughter  wanted to escape the abuse she was subjected to and concocted the whole plan with her friend to escape and frame her father. So does she really stage her death? But why would Kayla take it upon herself that she pushed her friend off the bridge? When she talks to her family about lies, is there something that Jay is hiding? There has to be a reason why Kayla puts herself in the middle of everything. She must want to expose her family's secret as well or simply test her family's love for her. The truth will be revealed when the movie releases.

Amulet-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Tomaz, an ex-soldier with a dark past, offers a job as a handyman for a woman taking care of her ailing mother. But there is something odd about the woman's illness.  Given the current situation, where everyone is required to spend more time indoors, and the blame on the pandemic rests on bats, do we really want to see a movie where there’s a weird phenomenon going on in a house, and there are weird bats found around? Well, that is what horror movies are. Inciting fear in things and places you would otherwise find comforting. Not that it is comforting encountering a bat. Amulet is a story that goes a lot back and forth. It’s disgusting in places, nauseatingly so. There are some shocks and surprises, but the proceedings are so slow you might be considering skipping to the end or simply stop watching altogether.

Welcome to the Blumhouse!

As a horror movies fan, of course, I've heard of Blumhouse Productions. They have backed some of the best entertaining horror movies such as The Paranormal series, Insidious, Truth and Dare, etc. And now they're going to come out with not one, not two, not three, but four horror movies in one month! October, also known as the Halloween month, will have four horror movies coming to Amazon Prime. Check out the trailer here:  The Lie (Releasing on October 6th):  When their teenaged daughter confesses to impulsively killing her best friend, two desperate parents attempt to cover up the horrific crime, leading them into a complicated web of lies and deception. Black Box (Releasing on October 6th): After losing his wife and his memory in a car accident, a single father undergoes an agonizing experimental treatment that causes him to question who he really is. Evil Eye (Releasing on October 13th): A seemingly perfect romance turns into a nightmare when a mother b

The Beach House-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Emily and Randall find themselves in danger from their neighbors and the environment when they head to a Beach House. Whenever I go to the beach, the first thing that comes to my mind while heading toward it, is who lives in the houses by the beach? Do they like living right next to the beach? Imagine waking up in the middle of the night to waves crashing on the shore. Would it sound soothing or scary? And what happens when the tide comes in? Or if there is a catastrophic tsunami? Beach houses would be the first to go, wouldn’t they? While most of these thoughts were formed because I began watching horror movies too soon and my mind immediately conjured up Final Destination scenarios, here is another reason why you might want to reconsider buying a beach house: There could be a weird explosion in the depths of the sea that mutates everything around the area. The Beach House could have been truly frightening, but the lack of explanations dampen the thrills.

The Legend of Amara: Chapter Two

CHAPTER TWO  Kiara stared at her palms that were cold and pale. Her fingernails had a bluish tinge. She could still hear the dull thud of her heartbeat. “You shouldn’t have said that in class,” Shanaya said, her voice low. Kiara looked around the office, saw the teachers gathered around one table, throwing uneasy glances in their direction. A few police officers were talking to the principal Mr Wardan. Kiara could see them looking at her through the open Venetian blinds of the office. “I didn’t mean to.” Kiara felt weird talking. Her lips were cold and numb. “Everytime they start talking about Amara like she was a god, it just feels wrong.”

The Rental-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When two couples rent a vacation home, they find themselves in a dangerous predicament when a man is killed.  Here’s another story of couples choosing a remote house for a weekend getaway rather than a resort or a five-star hotel with so many benefits. At this point, I’ll find a story believable of people choosing to go away from the city is if their career demands it. As a writer, I can understand the need to find some quietude so I can get some writing done without hundreds of distractions. Yes, I would even maybe turn off my cellphone for a while just so I can slip into a world that I’ll create piece by piece. Or else, why choose a place, so far from everything that no one can hear you scream, and the only way out in an emergency is your own car. THE RENTAL Movie Plot  In the Rental, we meet Charlie and Mina going crazy over a house they find online for a getaway. There is some chemistry between them and it’s a tad surprising when Josh walks in and not only is he Charl
