Weekly Horror News: Knock at the Cabin trailer drops. Fairy Tale headed for movie adaptation.

Imagine if the fate of the world was in your hands. The choices you make will affect the future. What would you do? Pretty scary, right? Who would ever want to be responsible for the apocalypse?

First Impressions: THE WATCHER

We all dream of a home where we will be able to create memories we would cherish forever.  A home is our safe place, a place where we can unwind, nurture and take care of ourselves. A home is where we feel happy and relieved after facing the harsh realities and the vicious people in our life.  So when someone enters our home without permission, it feels like an attack on us. Suddenly we don’t feel safe anymore. Our safe place is now a place marred by an outside presence that wants to harm us.

Elizabeth Harvest--My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: Elizabeth believes she is living her fairytale dream when she marries the rich and intelligent Henry. When he asks her not to enter a room in his house and she does, a terrible secret is revealed. If there was a way to bring back the person you loved, would you want to? No, not through magic or witchcraft but what if it was scientifically possible? You know...through cloning maybe? And what if you could feed memories into the clone as well? Elizabeth Harvest shows all this may just be powerful. Maybe.

Only Mine-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

There is nothing more frightening than having someone invading your private space, or someone trying to control every aspect of your life. Relationships aren't supposed to be cages, are they? They are supposed to be small houses you build together with your partner based on trust, love and happiness. Supposed to. But not everyone sees relationships as sunshine and rainbows. They may see it as a form of possession. Their partner is not a person anymore but an object that must exclusively belong to them. Anyone who dares to come near them, they must pay. There have been several movies over the years on the subject of obsession and stalking. Here's one based on a true story.

A House on the Bayou-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Jessica and John go on a vacation with their daughter Anna to save their troubled marriage. But then they meet a local boy, Isaac and find themselves in grave danger. We need to talk. The very words strike fear in people in relationships those four words clearly aren't used to deliver good news. It's used to point out cracks in a relationship and it leads to a breakup. Usually. Not in the case of Jessica though, who has the patience to endure a lot, apparently.

Meet the Author: MM Schreier

First Impressions: Good Night Mommy

When Goodnight Mommy was released in 2014, it was well-received by critics and the audience. The reviews described the movie as dark and violent, with only die-hard fans of horror being able to appreciate this kind of horror.  I do watch different sub-genres of horror but the mere mention of violence in the review, put me off and I didn’t watch the movie.  Now, of course I want to.
