Stay out of the F**king Attic-- Horror Movie Ending spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: A group of ex-cons turned movers are explicitly told not to go into the attic by their client. One of them does and all hell breaks loose.  In horror movies, when someone tells a character to stay out of the basement or the attic, why is it that this warning is never heeded? No matter what, the character always ends up in the very area they are forbidden to go and then, of course, chaos ensues. Looking at the poster of the movie and with the profanity in the title concealed, all you can glean from it is that a character is going to warn the others from staying out of their business and the other characters definitely did do exactly that. And that this is going to be a comedy. It is not a comedy although it very well could be.

The Power-- Movie Ending Spoilers!

Plot Summary: In 1974 a nurse joins a hospital and works the night shift. She soon uncovers a terrible secret within the walls of the hospital.  Power is everything. It is the most important thing to us. After all, how do we expect to charge our phones, watch TV and switch on the AC when it's summer. Or simply to turn on the light when it so dark. Of course, power is also strength and authority. Imagine having the power to do whatever you want. Now while we take electricity for granted nowadays, in 1973 people played around with the power to switch off electricity as a form of protest. THE POWER Movie Plot  When Val comes to join a hospital as a nurse, she must not only deal with the lack of electricity in the hospital, but also a stern matron and a couple of ghosts. The one rule she is told to abide by is to never talk to doctors, a rule she breaks on the first day by talking to Dr Franklyn and impressing him with her ability to bond with an immigrant child Saba. The matron punish

Horror Short Stories: The Yellow Wallpaper

It's not often that you'll come across fiction that deals with themes of mental health issues. Published in 1892, The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, is a tale said in the first person. The unnamed narrator is brought to a mansion by her husband John who is also a physician. She is kept in a room with yellow wallpaper and told to rest and eat properly because her husband thinks she is suffering from severe depression.

Held (2021)-- Movie Ending Spoilers!

Plot Summary: A couple's marriage is put to test when they are "HELD" against their will in a vacation home.  Remember the good ol' days? Yes, the days when things were simple, life felt easier and you didn't have too many worries? At some point, we all think about the past and how we can only revisit it in our minds. Some psychopaths, however, prefer recreating the past and often in damaging ways because the past didn't always work out well for everybody. Women, for example, didn't always have equal rights; certain races too had a difficult time being accepted in society. As much as we miss the past, perhaps it is a good thing that we are in the future. Progress will always be made and cannot be stopped. Yet, there will always be some who think regressively and who will resort to crime to recreate it. Held is a movie about such beliefs held by some really backward thinkers. To think that there might be people who have formed a whole organization to bring

Midnight Mass Trailer

Often when we are faced with sire situations. we turn for any aid that we may receive, and most times, we are advised to seek spiritual or religious guidance.  After all, our destinies are already written, we are expected to go with the flow.  Well, that is a general belief anyway. There is more than one way to sort a problem and so sometimes we just push ourselves harder, get up every day and face the problem, take it in our stride and understand that we must go through this difficult situation in order to learn and grow from the experience.  It all depends on what your religious beliefs are.  Midnight Mass has an intriguing teaser that asks the question: Why? I don't understand.  It is okay to say that when you look at the world.  The words the characters utter add mystery to what this series is going to be about. As per the summary, the series is going to be about the return of a disgraced man and a charismatic priest. There are miracles that are supposed to happen, but mo

Roohi--Movie Ending Spoilers!

Plot Summary: Two kidnappers get more than they bargained for when the girl they have taken turns out to be possessed.  When Stree came out, it was depicted as a movie in favour of feminism. The very plot of the movie was about the ghost of a woman who abducted men as revenge for what was done to her years ago. The ghost was of a woman who was separated from her lover because of a couple of jealous men in the town who wanted her for themselves. A trio of friends, with the help of a mysterious woman, manage to curtail the ghost's activities by finally figuring out that all she actually desired was respect. Of course, the movie was a horror-comedy so there were sequences where the lead actor thought the ghost desired marriage because she was parted from her lover. The message was thus effective and progressive because it showed that the woman wasn't desperate for marriage but respect. In quite a lot of cultures, a married woman is thought to be worthy of respect and an unma

Scary Urban Legends: Poveglia the Haunted Island

A long time ago, on an island situated between Venice and Lido, there was an island in the Venetian lagoon called Poveglia. The island was where people sought a haven from barbaric attacks and built a new life for themselves. Then came the era of the bubonic plague and the island was used to keep the sick in isolation. Those who died from the disease were burned and their ashes were rumoured to have been spread all around the island. Years later, the island was used for another purpose once again; this time to send the mentally ill. A mental asylum was built and those who were thought to be mentally unfit were packed up and sent there, away from the main cities. It is said, that those diagnosed to be mentally unfit weren't necessarily people who had actual mental health problems, but those who thought independently and had ideals that were not thought normal at that time. The hospital had a bell tower and it wasn't long after that one of the doctors plunged to their death. Wh

The Toll-- Movie ending spoilers

Plot Summary: Cami uses a ride-hailing app to go visit her father. Along the way, she and her driver Spencer encounter a supernatural threat. One of the things that I always found safe about ride-hailing services is the fact that the company wouldn't just hire anyone to drive customers. There's usually an extensive background check involved, and the customers know they are in safe hands and not getting into the wrong car is because the app they used to hail a ride, tells them the driver's name, shows a picture (usually) and lists the car license plate number.  The address is typed beforehand so that when the customer gets into the car, they don't even have to exchange a word with the driver regarding the destination. They can sleep if they want knowing that there's no chance that the driver would do anything to harm them considering all information regarding the ride is in the system and the driver can be easily caught if he tries anything. So when a movie comes alo
