Motherly-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Kate goes to extreme lengths to protect her daughter when intruders break into her home. It is said that a mother will do whatever it takes to protect her child. Her love for her child is unconditional so her desire to protect is also intense. If she senses her child is in danger, she will push herself to the limits to protect them. Kind of like cats when they feel their kittens are being watched or someone may try to harm them. The glare they will give you...that must be how the phrase "If looks can kill" must be coined.

Quick Movie Review: Don't Worry Darling

Plot: Alice and Jack live an ideal life in a community. But one day Alice learns the grim truth about her reality. Okay, first things first: the movie isn’t bad at all.

Horror Book of the Week: A Witch in Time

Night of the Tommyknockers-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot: In the 1870s, the discovery of gold in a mine causes chaos in a small town. Gold. That shiny yellow metal can make people do crazy things. It's valuable, of course which is why we have stories about thieves and pirates risking their lives and morality to get that chest of gold. Imagine the lengths people will go to protect their gold.

From the makers who brought you the dramatic thriller SEARCHING , here comes another mystery with plenty of twists.

Laura Hasn't Slept-- My take on the short horror film with spoilers!

Laura hasn’t slept and it is a good thing she doesn’t. It turns out that her nightmares are real.  Following the trend of short horror films turning to feature lengths, we have another movie that has proven to be a box office hit.

Quick Movie Reviews: Grimcutty

Plot: An internet meme comes alive and becomes a threat to kids in a town. Grimcutty is a decent horror movie about a monster being brought to life because of parents becoming hysterical about what the kids are doing online. While many kids are on just to watch videos and post selfies of themselves doing basic things, there are trends that have taken over social media that urge children to do risky things. These trends have caused kids and teens to become seriously injured so yes, it makes sense that parents would be overly cautious. So here's a movie about it. One of the most shocking scenes in the movie is that there is a whole box of knives in the kitchen. And the kid knows about it. As the hysteria of the internet meme, Grimcutty grows, some parents become so paranoid they buy a detox box wherein everyone in the house has to place their laptops and mobile phones into it. But not knives or any other tool, of course. Asha and her brother Kamran get caught up in their parent&

The Curse of La Patasola--My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Two couples on a camping trip come across the legend of La Patasola who punishes cheaters. Camping trips are supposed to be fun, adventurous; a trip for friendships to become stronger and for couples to bond. There is food to be foraged, camping fires to be lit, spooky stories to be shared, so of course it makes sense that the people you have gone camping with have a strong bond and are on the "right" page as you. Because just imagine if you run into something scary while camping. You don't want to place all your bets on a person who will just run the other way, now do you?

Horror Weekly News: Gale trailer drops. The Mean One is a Christmas Present for Horror Fans.

Welcome to Derry

Image by Peace, love, happiness from Pixabay    Your worst fears can come true should you ever have a run-in with IT.  That’s what this thing, this fearsome entity is called-- IT.   IT is thought to take any form and any shape. IT can play with your mind and make the thing that you fear the most, come alive.  That is what makes this creature so frightening. This creature possesses the knowledge and the intuition to take the form of anyone’s deepest fear and defeat them.  The Origins of IT IT was a creature that has been inhabiting Earth for a very long time. The creature is thought to come from space and has been laying underground, waiting for its next meal.  Unlike certain creatures that prey on anyone, IT likes to play with its food first. IT likes to instill fear into its victim and only then does it kill it.  So what does IT look like?  IT is basically the kind of organism humans cannot comprehend and so it takes different forms. One of its forms is thought to be a giant

The Last Thing Mary Saw-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Mary is accused of murder. As she gives her statement, she recounts the strange event that changed her life forever. In the 1840s, there was still no electricity, women were supposed to wear long gowns and caps so not an inch of their skin could be seen. Men were thought to be ruthless, at least in period dramas such as this one where they are far from sympathetic towards women. Also, they think its okay to be violent and cruel to women so that they may learn their place. Rice was not only seen as food but also as means to punish people by making them kneel on it. And forget about having an affair, that too if the couple belong to the same gender. Also, for some reason, maids were not easy to get so no matter what crime they commit, the families retained their maids.

An Interview with Joanne Baron from Halloween Ends

One of this year's most trending and eagerly awaited horror movies was HALLOWEEN ENDS . Touted as the movie that would feature the final showdown between Laurie and Michael, upon release, the movie received mixed reviews from critics. However, Halloween Ends topped the box office and received a decent opening.  While the movie saw several characters return, joining the franchise is actress Joanne Baron who plays Joan, Corey’s mother in the movie.  I got the opportunity to interview her and here’s what she had to say about the movie.

Short Horror Film: Hangman -- Review with Ending Spoilers!

Plot: Natalie's game of Hangman takes a terrifying turn.  A long time back when there was a free period at school, students used to play games in classrooms with whatever items they could find. Usually, it included written, word games like Name, Place, Animal, and Thing. Or of course the popular game HANGMAN.

Horror Weekly News: Friday the 13th series coming soon. Mayfair of Witches coming next year.

Take a trip down Crystal Lake. Or don’t.  Actually, do not think about going there because Crystal Lake is where the whole mess with Jason Voorhees began, and that too on Friday the 13th.

Movie Showcase: Night of the Tommyknockers

In Cornish folklore, Knockers or Tommyknockers are gnome-like creatures who are supposed to be friends with the miners.

The Outside-- My take on the episode with spoilers!

Plot: Unhappy with her looks, Stacy longs to fit in with her coworkers. Then she comes across a lotion that promises to give her everything she desires. You know how they always say looks don't matter and how you must never judge a book by its cover? And then you see movies and TV shows where a makeover enhances a person's life and makes them super popular. And smart too. Or were they always smart to begin with?

The Free Fall-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After witnessing her mother killing her father, and following a suicide attempt, Sara awakens to find herself next to Nick, her husband who is going to great lengths to keep her isolated. It is said that when angels sin, they are cast out of the heavens. They are then called Fallen Angels and their purpose becomes to cause humans to sin. Then there are the pigs. Most religions forbid eating them because they are unclean. Pigs roam about in dirt after all. It is said pigs are Unholy and those who consume them are sinners. Now, why do you need to know about fallen angels and pigs? Because the movie Free Fall, freely references them and it is a major hint about what is going on.

Peter Pan's Tale is now a Horror Movie

Fairytales have always been a part of our childhood. While we were exposed to numerous children’s books and poems, the one thing that kept us awestruck were fairytales because they contained magic, the characters were brave, the princesses were fascinating, and good always triumphed over evil.  Of course, over time the fairytales started to take a backseat as more books entered the market. As well as cartoons.

Graveyard Rats-- My take on the episode with spoilers!

PLOT: A grave robber must deal with savage rodents when he tries to steal a wealthy man's possessions. If you're afraid of rats or simply find them disgusting, you may just want to skip this episode. Some of the scenes will make your stomach churn. But doing so would mean that you miss out on a particularly frightening episode.

Horror Weekly News: Horrorscope gets a movie adaptation. Shelley Duvall comes out of retirement for a horror movie.

For those who call themselves the 90’s kid, you are in for a treat.  Remember the 90s well? Remember how good the TV shows, cartoons and the tweens and young adult novels were? ,

Quick TV Recap: CHUCKY (Episode 1-3)

The TV series Chucky has been gaining a fan following lately. Season 2 has received good reviews so far as well as solid numbers in viewership.  Part of it could be extensive marketing. After each episode is aired, you will find the TV show trending on social media.

The Autopsy-- My take on the episode with Spoilers!

Plot: A medical examiner is tasked with solving the mystery of the death of ten miners in an explosion. What he finds puts his life in danger. For a long time, there has been this consistent need to find out if there is life on a planet that isn't Earth. So many planets, and so many galaxies, there just has to be someone living out there. The question is, if there is, is it really a good idea to contact them?

Red Snow-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Vampire fiction novelist Olivia's dreams come true when she encounters a real vampire. But she isn't prepared for the complications that come with harbouring a vampire. It's been more than a decade since vampire movies and books were so popular you couldn't find anything in any other genre. I remember going to a bookshop, looking for a new book to read and picking up and putting down every book, especially in the young adult section. The blurbs especially were cringe-worthy. Example: Typical timid heroine meets bad boy and develops a crush on him. One night they meet and are about to kiss but the ignorant heroine realizes the mysterious hero is reaching for her neck instead... Yes, gone were the days when vampires were creepy, nocturnal beings who looked scary. No, the new novels were all about good-looking, fit vampires who could walk in sunlight. And had a reflection. These updated vampires sure took the horror out of the genre. Red Snow manages to bri
