Quick TV Recap: CHUCKY (Episode 1-3)

The TV series Chucky has been gaining a fan following lately. Season 2 has received good reviews so far as well as solid numbers in viewership.

Part of it could be extensive marketing. After each episode is aired, you will find the TV show trending on social media.

Part of it mostly has to do with the feud between actor Devon Sawa and Chucky that has fans glued to the drama. It’s all fun and fictional of course.

The season started with the return of Chucky (read: Episode One Review) and the three friends: Jake, Devon, and Lexy finding themselves being sent to the Catholic School of the Incarnate Lord.

Lexy comes face to face with her bully Trevor who seems to have changes his ways but Lexy knows better. And of course, she is right as we learn in Episode 3.

At their new school, Jake and Devon realize they must hide the nature of their relationship as it will be frowned upon and result in more punishment.

Lexy finds it hard to deal with her drug addiction problem following the death of her boyfriend Junior in Season 1

On top of that, she has a new roommate called Nadine who is a bit eccentric and by her own admission, a kleptomaniac.

But the three have not escaped Chucky just yet. A delivery is made to the school in which there is a Good Guy doll that is supposed to go for donations. The first thing Chucky does is give a nun a heart attack.

The three friends try to get to Chucky and subdue him. They even succeed but are curious as to why he has only been taking pictures of them and the school. What is he up to? Why isn’t he attacking them?

Father Bryce is watching the three friends and also finds out about Jake and Devon. He punishes Devon until the Chucky doll is returned.

At this point Devon wants to be done with the whole Chucky business and has several dramatic walkouts. But Jake wants to keep this Chucky doll alive because he wants to know what Chucky is actually planning.

Nadine is let on the secret after Chucky comes to attack Lexy and helps in keeping the murderous doll locked up.

The four stay up all night to brainwash Chucky until the thought of murder is repulsive to him. He has turned over a new leaf. But has he, really?

Lexy is still dealing with her addiction and Trevor who reveals he is not going to make things easy for her considering she’s the reason he’s here in the first place. She gets him in trouble with a nun after which he retaliates by putting something in Lexy’s drawer.

But before he can exit her bedroom, he is attacked by a Chucky doll. Yes, there are two now. Someone has been sending Chucky dolls to the school. This Chucky is into body building because his voice is thicker and he has abs. He is also able to pull out hearts from human chests. He does this with Trevor.

The four friends are aghast to find Trevor laying in a puddle of blood. It is at that moment a nun conducts a surprise inspection. The four hide Trevor’s body. But why? Isn’t someone going to notice the altar boy is missing? Or that the room has an unbearable stench?

The answers will be revealed in the next episode.

On the other side, Tiffany wakes up to find the head of a Tiffany doll. She comes to confront Nica who has no limbs following Tiffany’s operation on her last season. She tells Tiffany she couldn’t possibly be up to any pranks considering she cannot move about much.

Tiffany has Nica dressed up in a pretty frock that makes her look like a princess. Just then there’s a doorbell. Tiffany expects it to be her kids Glen and Glenda.

When she is gone, Chucky, who is possessing Nica, emerges. The two of them are plotting to take down Tiffany once and for all.

At the door, it is a police detective who wants to know Nica’s whereabouts. Tiffany pretends to have no idea but then when the detective gets too nosy, she kills BFFsim.

As she’s wiping the floor, there’s a doorbell again. This time it is Glen and Glenda.

What happens next?

Will Lexy get over her addiction? Will Nadine becomes in with Lexy? Can Jake and Devon’s relationship survive?

Most importantly, will we actually learn what Chucky is up to?

Also, based on last season, who will be the next character to die?

Father Bryce? Probably.

Chucky airs on the SYFY channel every Wednesday.

Check out a sneak peek of the next episode.

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
