The Intruder-- My take on the movie with Spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Annie and Scott buy their dream home from Charlie only to realize the former owner isn't ready to let go of his house yet. Have you ever missed watching movie clichés but can only find parodies? How about, for a change, you want to watch a movie with the usual tropes but not in comedy form? Well then, this movie is for you.

Horror Book of the Week: Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes

Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes is the horror book of this week!  Dead Silence is described as Titanic meets The Shining, two amazing well-told and well-made stories.  The premise is as follows (Taken from Amazon.com): Claire Kovalik is days away from being unemployed—made obsolete—when her beacon repair crew picks up a strange distress signal. With nothing to lose and no desire to return to Earth, Claire and her team decide to investigate. What they find is shocking: the Aurora, a famous luxury spaceliner that vanished on its maiden tour of the solar system more than twenty years ago. A salvage claim like this could set Claire and her crew up for life. But a quick search of the ship reveals something isn’t right. Whispers in the dark. Flickers of movement. Messages scrawled in blood. Claire must fight to hold on to her sanity and find out what really happened on the Aurora before she and her crew meet the same ghastly fate. Get this book today!

Werewolves Within-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When a snowstorm traps the residents in a town, Finn, the new ranger, must find out if one of them is the werewolf behind all the killings.   In a small town, everyone knows your name and everyone is informed about your affairs. So when something unusual happens the suspicion usually falls on the outsider. And sometimes, that guess is absolutely right.

Creepy Urban Legends: Queen of Spades

We've heard of the Bloody Mary tale, right? The game where we stand in front of a bathroom mirror and say Bloody Mary three times and then have a ghost pop out at us from the mirror? Candyman has somewhat the same rules? The Midnight Man too in some ways. All of these games have to be played in the dark with the hopes of summoning a ghost that will grant a wish. Well, here's another game to summon a ghost that will haunt and possibly kill you.

Horror Weekly News

Creepy Urban Legends: Kuldhara Village-- The Ghost Village

There are many ghost towns and villages around the world but not all of them have a mystery surrounding them. Kuldhara Village is one such village in Rajasthan, India. The village is abandoned and no one has dared to settle there. Why? Because it is thought to be haunted and cursed.

Horror and Art

Art is considered subjective. We all look at paintings in our own way, and draw from it our own interpretation. It is all perception. We look at things the way we want to look at them. The subject may remain the same, but it is our reactions that are unique.  There have been some artists who have turned their paintings into puzzles just to see how people react to it and if they take in every aspect of the painting.

Queen of Spades-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Four friends summon the Queen of Spades and end up being the target of evil forces.  There is something about young adult horror movies that I don't get. Just where are the parents? A lot could be going into a teenager's life and the parents are blissfully unaware. It doesn't matter if the kid is being bullied at school, or is contemplating suicide, or taking drugs or doing bad in studies. Nope, the parents don't usually care and if it is a TV series, we'll probably see a glimpse of them somewhere around the season finale. In horror movies, they'll make an appearance in the beginning and then maybe or maybe not towards the end.

The Weekly Horror News

After delivering hits like GET OUT and US, Jordan Peele is back to doing what he does best: directing another horror movie.  NOPE has been one of the movies that has everyone curious ever since the poster was revealed, but the poster itself doesn’t reveal much. There’s just a circular cloud looming over a town. Yes, it looks like a spaceship but knowing Jordan Peele’s aptitude to present clever plot twists, NOPE too must have a story that will keep us on the edge of our seats.  The movie will be released on July 22nd. Until then, a teaser has been released which shows three characters in different scenes, looking up at the sky and getting scared or surprised.     The full trailer will release soon and hopefully, put any curiosity to rest.  In other news, Sundance has finally been awarded a horror film with the Grand Jury Prize.  The film titled NANNY, is about an immigrant called Aisha who faces terror when she takes up a job as a nanny to a little girl. The movie is said to ha

The Legend Of Amara: Book I

Book Excerpt “So what you’re saying is, she chose me to possess?” Manvir lowered his eyes. “Unfortunately, according to legends, someone has to make an offering. Someone asked her to possess you. Amara’s form has deformed over the years. She needs a new body to sustain. Someone made a deal with her and this person is offering bones to her so she can get stronger. You did tell me she was strong enough to beckon you and step down from her pedestal and feed.” “Yes, but I don’t know much about her so I assumed she could do that.” “She wasn’t supposed to be able to.” “Amara wants you for some reason” . Kiara remembered Nari’s words. “Why would anyone do that to me?” “Thank about it,” Manvir said, gently, “Amara goes for the kill if anyone touches her. Or anyone is even around her. Why hasn’t she killed you yet?” “Because she wants me, or rather my body?” Manvir nodded sadly. Kiara felt tears in her eyes. “Someone sacrificed me to Amara? I can’t believe someone hates me that much.” “Who do

Let Us In-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After several disappearances in their hometown, friends Emily and Christopher team up to get to the bottom of the mystery.  A few years back, there was a legend about kids showing up on people's doorsteps or approaching drivers when they stopped at the traffic light. What was remarkable about them was that their eyes were completely black; the kind you would see kids have in horror movies when possession is shown. The people who claimed to have seen them called them the devil's children because the only thing they said was, "Let me in." And after that, they disappeared. There was another theory that these kids were actually aliens but instead of being asked to be taken to "your" leader, they asked to be let in so that they could wear people's bodies as a costume and roam the planet. In that case, it is lightly polite of these aliens to ask for permission first unlike the demons who roam the Earth and simply possess people without permission

Japanese Urban Legend: The Skeleton Woman (Hone-Onna)

According to a Japanese Legend, a Hone-Onna is a yokai, a skeleton woman who tricks men by approaching them as an attractive woman. She seduces them and then sucks their life force.  Now, there are stories that a Hone-Onna isn't actually evil. After death, a Hone-Onna doesn't forget the love she had when she was alive and will try to find her partner not realizing she is dead. Her true form is usually not seen by her lover but his friend or servant.  When I came across this legend, I decided to write a short story about it.  You can watch my take on this Japanese Urban Legend here:     Don't forget to subscribe to the channel for more horror stories!

Horror Weekly News

Mike Flanagan’s latest show has begun production.  What is it about?  Mike Flanagan, creator of shows like Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, etc., will now bring to screen Edgar Allan Poe’s acclaimed story ‘The Fall of the House of the Usher’.  Of course, his wife Kate Siegel is in it along with several regulars from Mike Flanagan’s previous shows such as Rahul Kohli, Carla Gugino, Henry Thomas and Annabeth Gish.  It is still not known who will be playing what part.  The classic Poe story is based on an unnamed narrator who goes to meet his friend Roderick Usher at his house. After his sister falls ill, she is taken and kept in a tomb. The house begins to develop cracks. Soon enough, it is learned that the sister never died and she returns to confront her brother.  The narrator runs away while the house, along with the siblings, are destroyed.  Now, the story had only three characters so it remains to be seen what twists and turns Mike Flanagan will bring to the story.  This wil

Archive 81--My take on the TV show with spoilers!

Plot summary: Dan Turner is tasked with restoring videotapes made by a woman called Melody Pendras in the 90s. What he learns from them shocks him as he also discovers his connection to Melody. Does anything good come out of looking into the past? One thing is for sure, the past cannot be ignored because sometimes the answers we are looking for to fix our present can be found after looking into our past memories. We are all products of the past, at the end of the day, aren’t we?

Till Death-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After learning of her affair, Emma's husband comes up with a sick revenge plot.  Marriages are made in heaven. There's someone made for everyone. Always marry your soulmate. Marriage is forever. How many times have we heard all these sayings? These phrases are usually wrapped neatly in a conversation we have with elders who want everyone to believe that marriages are the ultimate goals in everyone's life and if they are not, then they should be. As kids, we've read those fairytales where after a lot of biting on poisonous apples, leaving glass slippers behind, and signing off your voice to a sea urchin, the happy ending isn't only about defeating evil but marrying prince charming. It's not even a long engagement with these princesses. Nope. In the last scene, the princess marries her prince. What happens then? There have been sequels to these classics where the prince and princess have kids and have become wise almost immediately after and m
