The Legend of Amara Book I

Not every legend is about a hero. Everyone at HarbourOne City thought a little girl called Amara had saved their city from ferocious wolves all those years ago. When high school student Kiara Someri loses a friend in a tragic incident, she learns the grim truth about Amara. Amara was never the innocent girl everyone thought her to be. She was a powerful witch who would do anything to come back to life so she could exact revenge from those who had ridiculed her. But Kiara knows better than to speak the truth, let alone even utter Amara’s name. Because Amara has found a way to return and she will silence anyone who gets in her way.   GET IT NOW ON AMAZON KINDLE BUY IT FROM THE CLPH WEBSITE READ THE FIRST THREE CHAPTERS NOW

Too Late-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Violet is an assistant to popular comedian Bob Devore. It is her job to not only take charge of bookings but also to make sure Bob is well-fed.  Ever wonder where comedians find their inspiration to create jokes from? Most of it is observation and their reactions to a situation. There is a writing process involved, a lot of practice and a lot of hard work before a joke is finally written. At least that's what most comedians say in their interviews. Or maybe it is none of these things and it is all about devouring a funny person to acquire their talent. At least that is what Too Late seems to be all about.

The Weekly Horror News

The trailer for a new horror movie THE CURSED has dropped. The movie which premiered at the Sundance Festival in 2021 was previously titled Eight for Silver.

The Black Phone-- My thoughts about the book with Spoilers!

When the movie Black Phone was announced, it raised curiosity about the book it was based on. It isn’t often that a movie is based on a short story so of course I looked into it, knowing it was written by Joe Hill, Stephen King's son.

Horror Book of the Week: Mating Monsters (I.S.S.) by M. Sinclair

M.Sinclair’s new release Mating Monsters I.S.S is the horror book of this week. It has earned the best seller’s rank in Occult Fiction and Occult Horror.  What is it about? The summary (From Amazon.com) My monsters had found me… and they weren’t letting me go. The institute, also known as ISS, housed the most terrifying nightmares that existed in this world…but the true monster was the one that tortured me day in and day out. The one that made me feel worthless and question if I could even call myself a monster. My mother. I knew I would never escape her. She was everywhere, and two nights before my planned escape, she threatened everything. Somehow she found out my secret. Somehow she found out about them. My monsters. The only nightmares I could call my own. And when she threatened their very lives? I decided to run, leaving with a severed heart, realizing that they would wake the next morning to find that I was long gone. They would hate me for it… Or so I thought. But what happens

Censor(2021) -- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Enid, a film censor, believes an actress of a horror movie she is working on, may be her long lost sister Nina. I still remember the time when I told an acquaintance that I was interested in horror movies and stories. Her reaction was one of utter shock. Then came the questions and statements, one after another, all of the reasons why horror movies shouldn't be watched and how they negatively affect the mind. I simply listened to her POV and then told her how I treat horror stories as fiction and entertainment. Besides, I cannot stomach all horror movies anyway. I still steer clear away from movies that rely heavily on gore because usually, they compromise on storylines. It's all about gratuitous nudity, copious blood splatters, and too many plot holes. I sometimes wonder about the writer's imagination that comes up with such violent scenes in the first place. Had it not been for the censor boards, imagine the scenes that would have been passed. And some of

Creepy Urban Legends: KRASUE

If you see a will-o’-the-wisp in the fields at night, accompanied with a grotesque shape floating about, you may want to think twice before you go investigate it.  You may just have encountered a Krause.

First Impressions: ARCHIVE 81

What is ARCHIVE 81 about? Dan Turner restores old photos and videos. He has just returned from rehab following a breakdown after his split from his girlfriend that dug up memories of his family that he didn’t want to face.  His only friend Mark runs a show based on horror stories that Dan digs up from restored VHS. It’s a simple, satisfying life for Dan until one day he’s hired by Virgil Davenport to work on a secret project.

Horror Book of the Week: The Merry Go Round by Ray Johnson

Ray Johnson's book THE MERRY GO ROUND is Horror Book of the Week!  What is it about?  Plot (As taken from Amazon) The town is small, so the carnival that comes every year is usually small, with a small Ferris wheel and a small merry-go-round. But this year’s carnival has a huge merry-go-round, with six horses in a row, rather than three. The merry-go-round looks brand new, with immaculate fixtures: Flawless horses, some rearing, others snorting, still other racing with flying manes. The brass is polished and the mirrors are sparkling clean. Every child, and many young people, want to ride on the fabulous merry-go-round.  People, young and old, buy tickets and get in line to get on the merry go round…never knowing that none of them will ever get off…. I had the pleasure of editing this book as well, and can say that it is truly an entertaining read and fast-paced.  Get the book here:  CLUB LIGHTHOUSE PUBLISHING PAGE  AMAZON

A Quiet Place Part II-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: The Abbotts are still under threat from creatures that hunt by sound. As they venture out in pursuit of civilization, they are faced with a new enemy.  The world has been attacked by aliens. No, they're not the stocky green types who have laser guns and will demand that they be taken to the leader. These aliens are blind, ferocious kinds with enhanced hearing. They don't want diplomatic relations with the world leaders but simply want to kill everything that makes even a tiny bit of noise. Frightening, isn't it?

The Weekly Horror News: Amazon Prime Show cancelled, Morbius delayed

Coming as no surprise at all, I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER , has been cancelled by Amazon Prime Video.  It actually is no surprise that there isn't going to be a second season.

NOW AVAILABLE ON AMAZON KINDLE: THE LEGEND OF AMARA BOOK I

The Legend of Amara Book I is now available on Amazon Kindle.  Here is an exclusive chapter: From Chapter Four CHAPTER FOUR School was closed down for at least a week. A notification had been sent to every parent via email, informing them of the unfortunate incident, and that classes would begin once police investigation was complete. Students who felt traumatized were advised to seek counselling. Kiara sat in her room all day, occasionally opening her laptop to complete an assignment due in two weeks, but finding no motivation to do any research. Part of her feared finding articles on Ruchi if she used the search engine. There were no friends to connect with so she avoided social media.

Horror Book of the Week: THE LEGEND OF AMARA By Palvi Sharma

This week's horror book of the week is....my own!  THE LEGEND OF AMARA is a trilogy and the Book 1 is published by CLUB LIGHTHOUSE PUBLISHING.  What is it about?  Synopsis Not every legend is about a hero.  Everyone at HarborOne City thought a little girl called Amara had saved their city from ferocious wolves all those years ago.  When high school student Kiara Someri loses a friend in a tragic incident, she learns the grim truth about Amara.  Amara was never the innocent girl everyone thought her to be. Untitled Horror Movie-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Six actors decide to shoot their own film and accidentally summon a demon in the process.  Have you ever wondered what the stars of a TV show do when they are on a hiatus and wonder if they will be back on? They make movies, of course. Low budget, found footage kind of movies. And horror. And also, they do some kind of spell which wasn't supposed to work but does. The result? The stars are haunted by a demon. This is pretty much the premise of Untitled Horror Movie.

THE WILDLING--Should you watch it?

If there's one movie you want to avoid watching, it's The Wildling, and no, it's not because it is a terrible film. If anything, it isn't a movie at all. So do not be tricked into watching it and expecting to watch a complete movie. It is not.  The Wildling was supposed to be a TV series and a two-hour pilot was shot, hoping to interest production houses into picking it up. It was, however, not picked up.

Movie of the Month: Morbius

Remember how the bats started it all? Especially the vampire bat? It spawned the legends of Dracula and the Abhartach. The vampire bats feed on blood and from then on came the legends about vampire beings.  Most recently, bats, or rather bat soup has been blamed for COVID-19, which is perhaps the reason why a movie on bats was probably delayed. Turns out, the bat soup thing has been a rumor. The origin of the virus remains debatable. Whether it came from the markets or was made in a lab and then accidentally released, no one is certain until now.  MORBIUS was going to release in 2020 but the pandemic created havoc in the film industry and reduced attendance at movie theatres.

Creepy Urban Legends: Tomino's Hell

What happens when we read a good book or poem? We think about it, we let it change our perspective and influence us. We analyze, we change, we grow. But that's when the book is that good and has a profound effect on us. Now, what happens when what we read, disturbs us? A poem or a story may have some violent elements that affect us negatively and give us nightmares.

Classic Horror Movies: The Golem

Think about monster movies or "creature features" and the first thing you're apt to come up with is Godzilla, Jaws, mutated crocodiles or perhaps dinosaurs (Jurassic Park). You wouldn't be wrong to assume the creature features began in the late seventies and eighties because how can anybody earlier than that manage with special effects and training animals. Believe it or not, the first monster movie came out in 1915, The Golem.

Last of the Grads(2021)-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: All Emma wants is to enjoy her last day of school at the prom with her crush Steve. Then the Coast to Coast Killers shows up and ruins everything.    It is the last day of school. Emotions are high. You're probably never going to see the people you've grown up with ever again. Sure you may have your group of friends, but you'll never see your teacher again, a classmate you never were quite friends with but bonded during some class or the other. Or maybe the janitor or the people who work at the cafeteria who always smiled at you or helped you look for things when you left them behind during sports or swimming.
