The Weekly Horror News: Amazon Prime Show cancelled, Morbius delayed

Coming as no surprise at all, I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, has been cancelled by Amazon Prime Video.

It actually is no surprise that there isn't going to be a second season.

First of all, the last episode of the season seemed like the last episode of the series. Everything was wrapped up with Allison and Margot walking away happily, and Dylan accepting his sentence because now he gets to talk to the people about the cult.

There didn't seem to be a point to a second season anyway. The cliffhanger in the end with Riley waking up was hardly note-worthy or a scene that piqued curiosity. It didn't matter how she woke up and if a second season was granted, it would have bordered on the ridiculous plot of showing that the cult had supernatural powers and hoarded life-giving honey.

Secondly, the acting was just atrocious and none of the characters was likeable.

This show will not be missed.

In other news, Morbius will not be released in January after all. Delayed six times, this movie from the Marvel Universe will now release on April 1st. Why? The pandemic of course. With the new variant Omicron, creating havoc across the world, the studio clearly doesn't want to release a movie that will not get a proper theatrical release.

The studio is optimistic that by April at least, the virus would be subdued a little. Let's hope it is.

Also opening today is Scream, the fifth movie in the franchise. So far, the movie has generated positive reviews.

While critics praised the original cast, they weren't too enthusiastic about the new cast or the ending. Most of them missed the magical touch of Wes Craven who had the capability to land jokes and shock viewers with plot twists.

Fans have been urged to not reveal any spoilers.

On Rotten Tomatoes, Scream holds a rating of 77 percent by critics and 92 percent by the audience.

Let's see how these numbers change over the course of the week.
