Evil Takes Root-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Paranormal Investigator Felix Fojas finds himself dealing with an ancient evil brought accidentally by a woman into a town.  Going on a trip to another country is all fun and all but have you ever wondered if you’ve come back home with not souvenirs but something malicious. Ghosts, demons, spirits, any of them could have taken a liking to you and attached themselves to you or your luggage. Or maybe they too want to visit other countries. Whatever the reason, there may come a day when the airport might do screenings for supernatural beings smuggled into another country. Evil Takes Root: The curse of the Batibat is a story about how a woman went abroad, brought along a vengeful spirit called the Batibat who kills this woman in the first five minutes of the movie. The resulting story is about the characters who knew her. One of them is called Felix Fojas and for some reason, all the characters keep taking his name over and over. The full name. Who’s waiting for you? Felix Fo

Death of Me(2020) My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Vacationing couple Christine and Neil must solve the mystery of the previous night before they can get off the island.  You know what’s fun? Vacationing in a country and immersing yourself in their culture. Never miss an opportunity to learn something new. You know what isn’t fun? Taking random drinks from the locals, not learning basic words of the local language, and yes, not taking care of your personal belongings when you know the police and the embassies are on the mainland and not on the tiny island you picked out of a brochure only because it hasn’t seen a hurricane in 200 years.

The Owners-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When a group of friends plan to burgle an elderly couple's house, little do they know who they are really dealing with.  A few years ago, there came a movie where a trio of robbers break into a blind man’s home only to find out the owner isn’t as helpless as he seems. He’s blind but his ears worked just fine. So...don’t breathe or you’ll be found out and tortured and killed. There have probably been more movies like these over the years, all of them giving away the same message: don’t break into other people’s homes to earn a quick buck. These movies were meant to discourage crimes, except for some reason, rather than having a “The Last House on the Left” kind of vibe where you do root for the owners of the house, movies like Don’t Breathe and The Owners give away the message: it’s okay to attempt to break into other people’s house. They might be criminals that need to be taken down and don’t need sympathy.

The Small Hand (Ghost Story)-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Adam buys a new house unaware that his past is related to it. It is when a small boy keeps reaching for his hand that the truth is revealed. You know when a movie begins with a shot of a long stretch of road and a lone car on it, that it is going to be one of those movies where there will be a haunted house and that the protagonist is going to second guess their own sanity when then goes awry. Well, here’s another one.

The Unfamiliar-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: An army doctor thinks she is suffering from PTSD only to discover that she is being haunted but can't trust anyone around her.  You know how it’s the kid in a family who is usually possessed in horror movies that creates all the chaos? Well, this time it is the kid who is going to be the one who is not the possessed one. At least not at first. This time, the kid is going to be the one who is going to keep his mouth shut about what is actually going on and then reveal tidbits when everything for the family has already gone downhill.

Shifter-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Teresa learns there are gruesome side effects to time travel.  I would imagine that anyone who is interested in time travel it would be because they want to change a certain event in their lives that had consequences affecting their lives. Honestly, if we did go through a troubling period, met a person who brought more problems into your life than happiness, and you find yourselves thinking you wished you could have handled things differently, well don’t. We were meant to go through certain experiences in our lives and meet these annoying people because they helped us shape the person we are. Still, there are some people like Teresa who are interested in time travel because, in her words, Quantum Physics is a curse and the one thing you should do when you're cursed by it is build time travel machines.
