The Shed--My take on the movie with spoilers!

Vampires plus High School equals to?

No, not Twilight or The Vampire Diaries, where there were no bullies. Where harmony prevailed and anyone who looked weird wasn’t made fun of.

Bullies from any other teen movie would have made fun of pale looking, sun-fearing people.

No, The Shed centres around a monster with vampire traits who takes refuge in, well, a shed.

Basically, we see a man running in the forest from a monster, who is then bitten and turned into a monster who sizzles in the sun.

He finds the closest shelter which just happens to be a shed belonging to Stan’s grandfather.

We then move on to Stan’s story, a seventeen-year-old who is plagued by nightmares. Seriously, the movie might well have been called Stan’s Nightmares.

And he doesn’t have ordinary ones. He seeks nightmares inside nightmares.

Another interesting thing to note about this movie is the overuse of plaid. Literally, every main character is wearing plaid, to the point, Stan’s pillowcases are plaid too!

In two minutes we se…

The Cleansing Hour--My take on the movie with spoilers!

If you confess to your sins, will you be liberated or subjected to more punishments and problems?

The truth should set you free. Or does it simply ruin any relationships you have?

In The Cleansing Hour, we meet Father Max performing an exorcism on a man. He identifies the demon, chants the rites and saves the man’s life with great difficulty. Or so it seems.
In the next instant, we find out that Father Max is actually the star of the show “The Cleansing Hour” and is performing fake exorcisms with the help of his friend Drew.

Clearly, both of them should have known better than to get involved in something that ridicules the evil beings.

Because soon enough, the friends come across a real demon.

Drew’s girlfriend Lane willing decides to help her boyfriend when an actor fails to show up.
Perhaps the real demon arranged it as well as the actor encounters an unsettling experience while looking for the studio.

Lane assured her boyfriend she will do a good job as she is a drama major and allows hers…

Itsy Bitsy-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

We’ve all heard the itsy Bitsy spider nursery rhyme as a kid.

It seemed so innocent then, didn’t it? It’s about this little spider trying to climb up but getting washed down by the rain. Does the spider give up? Nope. As soon as the rain stops, he climbs again. Whether or not he succeeded in this endeavour, is never revealed.

Perhaps this is why I never developed a fear of spiders. Spiders seemed so innocent in the poems and stories we read as kids. And they did get rid of the pesky flies.

And then, of course, there is Spider-Man. He got bit by a spider and look how his life turned around.

So, no. I’m not afraid of spiders but I wanted to take up the challenge of watching a horror movie that featured spiders. Will I finally develop a fear for the eight-legged creatures?

After watching the movie, still no. The giant spider still looks like it can be taken down with a swing of a bat. And it kind of does get taken down.

The movie begins with a scene from a long time ago. A tribe is performing …
