The Free Fall-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After witnessing her mother killing her father, and following a suicide attempt, Sara awakens to find herself next to Nick, her husband who is going to great lengths to keep her isolated.

It is said that when angels sin, they are cast out of the heavens. They are then called Fallen Angels and their purpose becomes to cause humans to sin.

Then there are the pigs. Most religions forbid eating them because they are unclean. Pigs roam about in dirt after all. It is said pigs are Unholy and those who consume them are sinners.

Now, why do you need to know about fallen angels and pigs? Because the movie Free Fall, freely references them and it is a major hint about what is going on.

THE FREE FALL Movie Plot

Sara is on the phone with her sister Julie who is bailing on their parent's wedding anniversary. Sara tries to convince her sister to come because her mother is recreating the wedding day and wearing a  dress too. Julie is still not interested.

Sara goes into her parent's bedroom and receives the shock of her life; her mother is repeatedly stabbing her father on the bed. Sara collapses.

When she wakes up, she's all bloody in a bathtub. She opens her eyes and gasps.

When Sara finally wakes up, this time she finds herself next to her charming husband Nick, who wears turtleneck sweaters. That is all the evidence we need to know that Nick is up to no good. Everyone knows villains wear turtleneck sweaters.

But Sara doesn't know that yet and is glad for all the attention he's doling out on her.

Nick apologizes for not seeing signs of Sara being suicidal and claims it's because he's a writer and was too focused on his work than her. Sara promises she would never do anything like that again.

She is, however, plagued by nightmares wherein she sees herself crawling out of the bathtub, all bloody.

She then sees Nick through her bedroom window and he is talking to an older woman.

When she sees her again, Nick tells her it is Rose, the woman he hired to help take care of her.

Rose throws in a lot of attitude when Sara tries to help her with picking up the laundry basket. Sara goes to complain to Nick who is busy typing away. She doesn't think that she may be disturbing him. Nope, she barges in to complain that the help is rude to her. Nick goes up to her and tells her she needs to show Rose her place and that Sara is the boss. Sara says that nope, she's too nice but Nick wants her to become mean.

In the meantime, Sara keeps having more nightmares except for this time she sees a woman crying over her and a man who is checking her. She gets up and sees the same woman and man being sent away by Nick.

Nick tells her that there was no way they could have entered the house and that the woman was her sister Julie and the man a doctor. He tells her he doesn't agree with those doctor's methods.

Sara is more confused than ever but at this point, she only has her husband to trust.

The next time Sara and Rose clash, Sara demands respect and Rose makes an offhand remark about Nick. Sara fires her and goes to complain to Nick again who is typing away and doesn't mind getting distracted.

There...right there is the biggest hint as to Nick's intentions. What kind of writer doesn't mind distractions when they are working? Clearly, Nick isn't writing something important.

Sara has more nightmares and is haunted by visions of her sister being scared of her.

THE FREE FALL Ending Explained with Spoilers!

A dinner party is held and Sara is made to meet her so-called friends.  To her surprise, Rose is there too, hired back by Nick to cook the pig roast.

The man next to Sara puts a hand on her knee which she tries to push away but is unsuccessful.

Nick talks about pigs and cannibalism while the guests laugh. Sara is feeling weirder by the second and has enough of the man groping her. She stabs his hand with a fork and the guest is led away.

Sara then sees herself actually stabbing the guest in the neck. She's in an empty room. In a tub and given robes to wear. She sees a flashback of going to see her parents only this time her mother isn't stabbing the father but Nick, with a pig's head on him, is making Sara's mother kill her husband.

Sara is shocked and it is revealed that it was at this point that she had become possessed.

Yes, Sara has been possessed by a demon and the man she had seen with her sister, is actually performing an exorcism on her. Sara is given a choice to stay but she decides to return to her sister.

In the real world, an exorcism is taking place and the priest is having problems performing it. Julie, desperate to have her sister back, screams at the demon to take her.

The exorcism is successful and Sara is healed.

Julie sits next to her sister and says something about things getting better now. Sara is shocked. That is something Nick had said.

So yup, Julie is the one who is possessed now. Hopefully, Sara knows the number of the priest?

The Free Fall is an entertaining movie with an intriguing plot twist.

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
