Weekly Horror News: Knock at the Cabin trailer drops. Fairy Tale headed for movie adaptation.

Imagine if the fate of the world was in your hands. The choices you make will affect the future. What would you do?

Pretty scary, right? Who would ever want to be responsible for the apocalypse?

M.Night Shyamalan is back with another thriller called KNOCK AT THE CABIN.

As rumored, the movie is based on Paul Tremblay’s critically acclaimed novel THE CABIN AT THE END OF THE WORLD

The novel was released in 2018 and continues to be on the best sellers list.

THE CABIN AT THE END OF THE WORLD was about a young girl called Wen who is adopted by Eric and Andrew.

While they are vacationing at a cabin near a lake, Wen meets Leonard, a rather large man who befriends her.

It is when Leonard is joined by his friends that Wen grows wary and runs away. But Leonard calls out a warning, telling her that it wouldn’t be her fault no matter what happened next.

Eric and Andrew are tied up and told that the fate of the world rests in their hands. They must make a sacrifice to save the world.

Spoiler Alert!

When is supposedly killed by a gunshot, and Eric and Andrew must now learn to live without her.

The novel had a rather depressing ending and there is speculation that the movie might take a different direction.

It will be interesting to see the twists and turns M. Night Shyamalan will come up with in this movie.

KNOCK AT THE CABIN stars Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge, Rupert Grint, Nikki-Amuka-Bird, Abby Quinn, and Kristen Cui.

The movie releases on February 3rd, 2023.

In other news…

Coming as no surprise really, Stephen King’s latest novel, FAIRY TALE is already headed for a movie adaptation.

The novel was released on September 6th and was about a seventeen-year-old boy called Charlie Reade who finds a key to a hidden realm where he is caught in a battle of good and evil.

The book quickly topped the bestsellers list and has been well received by critics and readers.

Filmmaker Paul Greengrass has acquired the rights to make this film. Paul Greengrass is well-known for directing the Bourne movies and is currently adapting the dystopian, sci-fi novel 1984

Stephen King’s works have always found their way to the screen one way or another. In 1983, his novel Christine went into movie production way before the novel was released.

The novel was released in April and the movie in December. The novel was a bestseller and the movie a hit. Currently, a remake of Christine is also in the works.

Details of the movie adaptation of Fairy Tale is still not known. In the meantime, grab the book.

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
