Horror Weekly News: Eli Roth's Thanksgiving gets a Teaser. Blumhouse introduces a new Villain in Totally Killer.

Sixteen years ago, horror fans were treated to a mock trailer of a movie called THANKSGIVING. The trailer featured in a movie that was presented as a double feature called GRINDHOUSE.

The trailer for THANKSGIVING in Grindhouse showed a man in a Pilgrim’s costume mindlessly killing everyone in sight. Eli Roth, the director of the trailer, also makes a special appearance and ends up being decapitated by the killer.

The movie THANKSGIVING is finally being turned into a full length movie.

Watch the teaser carefully and you may even spot some similar scenes that were in the mock trailer.

In the teaser that was released recently, we see a happy little town celebrating Thanksgiving. People are happily going about their way and enjoying the parade.

That is when the Pilgrim comes in and starts pushing peoples faces into the fryer and then into the freezer. He snaps people’s necks and uses his axe viciously.

In the mock trailer, there was a scene where a cheerleader jumps on a trampoline only to be impaled on a knife sticking out while she performs a split. Ouch!

That infamous scene features in the teaser for THANKSGIVING.

The movie stars Patrick Dempsey as the sheriff, Rick Hoffman, and Gina Gershon.

Written by Jeff Rendell and Eli Roth, the latter who is also the director, the movie will release on November 17th.

Expect no leftovers.

In other news….

It’s time to head back to the eighties!

To stop a killer, of course.

In the new slasher movie TOTTALY KILLER, there’s a new killer in town called the Sweet Sixteen Killer. Going by the name, let’s assume the killer targets girls who have just turned sixteen.

In the trailer, we get to see a seventeen year old Jamie Hughes trying to convince two police officers about a murder that is going to take place that night. She references the BACK TO THE FUTURE movies and immediately gets laughed at.

We then see Jamie’s mother, Pam Hughes, getting ready for Halloween but actively discouraging her daughter from going out. But does Jamie listen? Of course not.

References are made to a murder that took place thirty-five years ago in which Pam had lost her friends to the serial killer. Jamie shrugs off the warning, claiming that it is not 1987 any more and she is going to be fine.

In the next instant, the killer not only follows Jamie, but also attacks her. After some chasing around, the Jamie ends up at the photo booth and when the killer enters, the poor photo booth is stabbed resulting in Jamie ending up in the past.

She meets the younger version of her mother who used to be a cheerleader. Jamie is shocked to find that her loving mother was actually really mean in her younger days.

Jamie manages to infiltrate the school and even manage to get on the team and in the friends circle.

Her new friends are more into camping in the dark and lonely woods. The killer is seen wearing the same mask and attacking everyone on sight.

Just how is Jamie going to stop him?

Considering that only Pam was spared and the killer has been attacking her daughter, it is safe to assume that the killer is connected to Pam’s past.

Directed by Nahnatchka Khan, Totally Killer is written by David Matalon, Sasha Perl-Raver, and Jen D’Angelo.

Totally Killer stars Kiernan Shipka, Olivia Holt, and Julie Bowen.

Totally Killer is the latest offering from Blumhouse and will be released on Amazon Prime Video on 6th October 2023.

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
