Quick Horror Movie Review with Spoilers: Boy Makes Girl

Plot: Aaron, a software engineer, tries to connect with people but is limited by his condition. However, he finds the perfect solution to solve his problem of finding a partner.

When we are kids, we expect the adults in our life to to give us gifts on pretty much any occasion.

When we turn into adults, we often run into disappointment when the people in our lives think we are too old for something as frivolous as presents.

In that case, we simply end up buying gifts for ourselves.

BOY MAKES GIRL is somewhat like that.

Can't find the perfect mate? Make it yourself.

BOY MAKES GIRL Plot

The movie is endearing in the beginning. We see Aaron trying earnestly to connect with people but of course everything goes wrong.

Not everyone understands him and he often says the wrong thing or messes up his planned conversational topics.

There are those who pity him and try to help him by setting him up with a date but even that doesn't work.

Aaron's mother has passed away and since she was the only one who understood him, he finds himself all alone in this world.

But he is smart and one day decides to create his own companion.

Of all the people, he models his android after his therapist Emma that he had as a kid, simply because she used to be another person in his world who understood him.

Along the way, he also makes a connection with Ben, an older man Aaron's mother was taking care of. They end up having an unusual friendship.

Ben and Emma are two people who are now part of Aaron's new world.

But soon enough Emma begins to update herself and Aaron panics when he realizes she is learning things too quickly.

He runs into a bit of trouble and things go awry pretty quickly.

Aaron manages to gain somewhat control of his life afterwards even after the losses he faces.

Towards the end, he learns to live and enjoy his life for what it is.

BOY MAKES GIRL is an unusual story but it is sweet and heartwarming at times too. You will end up rooting for Aaron to overcome the hurdles and find his happy ending.

The linear narrative is compelling and the acting is excellent. There is a lot to learn about life and loss, and this movie offers a glimpse on how to cope with some of it at least.

The movie is written by Mark Elias who has also directed alongside Mark David.

BOY MAKES GIRL stars Mark Elias, Paul Dooley, and Meeghan Holaway.

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
