Why do I write

As a kid I was always quiet. Not shy, like many people thought, but just plain quiet. I remember just sitting down and observing everyone around me. That's all I did- observe people, note how they behaved in circumstances and how they showed happiness and sadness.
I wouldn't say I became an expert in human behavior, but I do have a possibly limited understanding of how people think in particular circumstances.

Anyway, coming back to the topic, since I was always quiet, when I finally did speak I found that I wasn't very good at expressing myself. I wanted to say my part in a conversation as quickly as possible so that I could get to listening, which meant that I could never really fully explain what I was trying to say.

So I turned to writing. It opened a whole different world for me when I wrote my first horror short story. I realized I did have something and I did have potential. After college graduation I finally decided to take up writing even though I had absolutely no background or education in Arts or Fine Arts.

I wrote because I could finally say what I wanted to say even though it was through my characters and I also chose writing because I had something to say and had opinions, but I couldn't say them myself.

As I pursued writing, I started to discover how much patience and persistence it required along with loads of hard work. I had imagined completing stories in a day only to find out that it took three hours just to write half a chapter. There was so much planning and research to do.

Writing isn't easy as some people think. It requires every creative fiber in the body to produce something that is absolutely amazing to me. Writing and conceptualizing cannot be done in a noisy environment or at a particular time. It just comes to you like a bolt out of nowhere and all you can do is just reach out for a piece of paper or a cell phone to write it down. It is that powerful.

Through this, I also found how important it is to learn something new. Inspiration can after all come from anywhere. So with great determination I've decided to learn something new everyday. Currently learning the Italian language and reading the news. So let's see....

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
