The Belko Experiment- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Eighty people are trapped in an office and told they must either kill or be killed.

Two minutes into this movie and you’ll no longer be sitting comfortably in your seat. The opening scene shows the bustling city of Bogota and then brings you straight to the site of the most deranged and deplorable acts that are to be committed.

It just goes to show: When it comes down to it, man will do whatever it takes to survive.

Even kill.

THE BELKO EXPERIMENT Movie Plot

Belko Industries is the office situated in a remote part of the city where there are military checkpoints and where only cattle graze. They are pretty much the only living beings around for miles. In all that barbed wire and green land, there is only one structure standing tall and proud: the office building that looks ominous against the grey gloomy skies but also looks awkwardly made by computer graphics.

The routine of these office-goers are wrapped up in a few minutes, then suddenly all the doors and windows are barricaded by a strange metal that is impenetrable and somehow doesn’t heat up when a blowtorch is applied to it.

Soon, a strange voice takes over the speakers, warning people that they have to kill two people in half an hour or four will be eradicated. Obviously, everyone thinks it's a creepy prank and pay no heed. Half an hour passes and four people have their heads exploded. Turns out, a chip had been embedded in their heads as part of security. The invisible voice sends out a frequency that causes the chip to explode.

Another announcement is made and this time, thirty people have to be killed or sixty will be eliminated. This causes panic among the people and morality and humanity, is put to the test. Colleagues are put into groups of those who have kids, people over sixty...the killing begins ruthlessly and there is only the tiniest bit of remorse on the faces of the boss who has rounded up his team.

It is, after all, kill or be killed.

There is no way out, and as a viewer, it’s pretty calculable that it's not going to end well for any of the characters. All of them have blood on their hands. All of them have crossed the line that makes them human. When they go out in the world, they will have to face consequences. If anyone survives. Surely, the captors weren’t going to release a witness into the world to narrate the despicable experiment conducted on them.

So you kind of do know how it is all going to end.

THE BELKO EXPERIMENT Ending Explained with Spoilers!

The main character- Mike is the only one who survives and is released to go see the man who was behind it all. Or so it seems. Using the tracker bombs his colleague had extracted from other employees’ heads, Mike uses it to get away from the people who refuse to divulge the real reason behind the experiment.

In the end, we are shown several screens where people from all around the world, are being experimented on in the same way and the lone survivors now have to get ready for Phase 2.

The thrills were exciting, watching the characters twist their conscience, even more so. However, I wish the reason behind the experiments was revealed rather than left for a probable sequel. These people are being chosen for a reason and perhaps not only for going on killing sprees. Mike, really didn’t kill anyone apart from his boss.

He hid, tried to save people, but didn’t really take the initiative to actually form a group against the ones who had decided that killing was better than having their brains explode. Mike was just plain lucky to survive.

There were a few things that could be tried. For example, if the internet was working, they could have sent an email out for help. They could have started digging under the floors. Or perhaps they could have tried to parachute off the building. These things would probably not have worked, but at least they could have shown some employees considering other possibilities rather than waiting for one character to make all the decisions.

There were two people hiding on top of the elevators, but how about the vents? Did people, not even try to hide from the others?

This was an exceptionally thrilling ride, one that will get you completely involved and actually root for some of the characters to get out of this.

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
