Cam—My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Alice finds herself replaced by a replica of herself on her web show, she sets about to get her identity back. But the impostor isn't going to make things easy for Alice.

The internet just got creepier. With many movies focusing on the risks of being overly exposed on social media, here comes a movie with an even shocking theme, albeit a bit unexplained.

Cam follows the life of Alice, a woman who indulges in salacious activities in front of a webcam to an audience of several men who tip her if she plays out their kinks.

With a raunchy theme such as this, thankfully the movie presents the scenes in a decent manner and the focus is more on Alice and her ambition to be number one on the list.

CAM Movie Plot

Alice is ready to perform any bizarre activity to climb up the ladder and increase her ranking.

The day she finally hits the top fifty is when things begin to go awry. The day after she performs a risky deed, she wakes up to find herself locked out of her account and the website shows her performing live. Alice is shocked to discover that a woman who looks like her is talking to her clients, earning her money and blocks any messages that rat her out as an impostor.

No one helps Alice, not even the police. To top it all, a video of her showing a picture of her brother and the inside of her house, reveals her career to her mother who is shocked.

Alice tries to beat the impostor, fails, then finds out from her stalker that there is something online, like a virus that tracks people online and uses their information to create an entity that looks like them. In fact, some of the girls online don't even exist unreal life. Shockingly, this thing has no idea what it looks like and when Alice invites her to a private chat, doesn't see the resemblance.

CAM Ending Explained with Spoilers!

Alice takes it off private chat and shows her clients the two Lolas as her online persona is called. After throwing one challenge after another in which Alice breaks her nose to prove the other one is fake, the impostor too quickly integrates a bloody nose on its face. It seems the battle will end with Alice losing, however, at the last moment, she wins a challenge and asks the impostor to send her the password as part of the deal. She does and Alice deletes the account.

Alice goes back to her normal life and creates a new account with a new identity.

The movie was thrilling and intense, but the unexplained plot plays spoilsport. Who was the other Lola? How did Alice get a new identity card? Did she legally change her name? Was the highest tipper somehow involved with the hacking since he was seen with all the girls? Or was it Lola's stalker who was friends with the girls whose accounts were hacked as well?

Did the site have a main office? Why didn't Alice go to the developer's office and show that she couldn't be in two places at once? And I wished they had shown the police try to help her at least. Stolen identity is stolen identity.

Apart from a few questions left to be solved, the movie is an exciting watch and a decent thriller.

Scare scale: 3.5/5

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
