Creepy Legends: The Elevator Killer

Elevators can be pretty creepy if you think about it. You are taken up several floors in a metal cage hoisted by cables. Imagine if the cable snaps. Imagine if there is a technical problem and the door doesn't close properly or the elevator arrives but without a floor. If you think about it a lot, you'll see the several flaws of getting into an elevator. Apart from the aforementioned issues, there are also issues of several people getting in at once. Doesn't help people with claustrophobia.
So yes, elevators are scary on their own and it's best not to think about plunging to your death if the metal cage malfunctions or the cables snap.

But here's a legend to give you the creeps. In Korea there is a story about a young woman who gets delayed at the University. When she heads back home, it is very late and there is no one around in the streets. She reaches her apartment building and no one is around on the ground floor. She gets into the elevator and just as the door is about to close, a handsome young man pushes his hand through and stops the elevator.
The young woman lives on the fourteenth floor and he presses the button for the thirteenth. Throughout the ride up, the young woman steals glances at the man, developing a crush. As they reach the thirteenth floor, the man smiles and says, "See you..."
The young woman blushes and replies, "Yes, see you." Apparently, she thinks he means see you around. Nope.
He continues, "... Upstairs." He laughs maniacally and takes out a knife. Before the elevator door closes, the young woman sees him rushing upstairs. The young woman is terrified. There really is nothing you can do in such a short span of two floors, can she? The door opens at her floor, and her worst nightmare has come true. The next day, her neighbors find her body sliced into ribbons.
Ever since it is rumored that Korea has made it mandatory for all elevators to have a stop button. This story still gives me the creeps every time I think about it. There really isn't a way to escape the killer, is there?

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
