Violation-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When her brother-in-law breaks her trust, Miriam goes on a path of revenge.

Don't... Stop.

These words when used in a different context can change the meaning.
For Miriam, these words were used to beg to be let go and not be hurt. For Dylan, these words were an encouragement to keep going, to continue to attack Miriam because that is what she wants.

Violation is a bit hard to watch and some of it is because the scenes keep jumping between past and present and we can't exactly understand whether that particular instance took place before or after the "incident".

VIOLATION Movie Plot

The movie begins with a couple, Miriam and Caleb, taking a long drive to Greta and Dylan's place. Greta is Miriam's sister and the women bond over childhood stories.
But it becomes apparent that Miriam shares a better rapport with her brother-in-law Dylan who she apparently went to school with and shares some stories with him. When they arrive at a waterfall, they stand quietly and seem to be enjoying the moment together.

Later, the couples have a barbecue and then play in the lake.
The next day, however, Miriam discourages Greta and implies she could do better than Dylan. Greta obviously tells her to back off.
Miriam calls Dylan to another location to talk and he tells her Joe much he has been thinking of her, intimately of course.

Miriam wants him to reiterate all the events on the night by the firepit. Dylan goes into detail about how much they both needed to be with each other and how when he made a move, Miriam told him "don't stop".
Miriam simply asks if that is what she truly said.

All this time, she's stripping Dylan and putting a blindfold on him and then tying his hands together. Dylan thinks she's being kinky until Miriam strikes him on the head.

Events jump all around again and Greta tells Miriam how she didn't really stick up for her when they were younger and bluntly tells her sister that she did it so that she could feel better about herself rather than actually help her sister.
Miriam is disgusted her sister thinks that about her and goes away. She tries to get intimate with Caleb but he isn't interested at all.

Later we are shown what really happened by the firepit.
After Caleb and Greta went off to bed, Miriam and Dylan shared some memories. Miriam, probably feeling vulnerable because Caleb is becoming estranged, kisses Dylan and then apologizes. Dylan makes nothing of it and the two get drunk.
When Miriam awakens in the morning, she finds to her horror that Dylan is taking her without her will. She tells him "don't" and then "stop". But Dylan continues to rape her.

Later, Miriam demands that Dylan tell the truth but he claims she wanted it as much as he did.
She makes a public scene about people lying all the time, still not being straightforward about what Dylan did to her. Greta and Caleb tell Miriam to back off and she storms off.
Back in the present, Miriam is taking the next step in her revenge plan but Dylan awakens and the two have a fight in which Miriam just about manages to get the upper hand by strangling Dylan.

VIOLATION Ending Explained with spoilers!

The next step in the plan is to bleed Dylan dry and then chop him into pieces.
Part of it is because of what Dylan did to her. Another part of her is still protective of her sister. She doesn't want Greta to be with a cheat, a liar, a rapist. In a way, even that is something for Miriam, to do something for her sister.
The scene jumps to the day Greta has called her whole family for a get-together and Dylan is nowhere to be found. She taunts Miriam for complicating things then makes half an apology.
Miriam's eyes tear up as she realizes what she must do. Or what she has already done.
The back and forth scenes made it hard to place this scene in the timeline before Dylan was killed or after.

The movie has a powerful message to give but suffers from a lack of clarity due to the back and forth scenes jumps.

Still a good movie to watch if you are willing to skip the scene where Miriam chops up Dylan and then spends minutes throwing up.

Scare scale: 3/5

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
