Dawn of the Beast--Horror Movie Ending Spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: A group of students go searching for the Bigfoot but end up finding not only the legendary creature but an evil creature called the Wendigo too.

Imagine looking for a silver coin and ending up with a gold one. Or expecting to come third place and coming up first. Or expecting a bad day but actually having an incredible one.

It's like winning the lottery, isn't it?
Quite a bit of serendipity too.

The Dawn of the Beast is something like that.
A group of people go looking for Bigfoot and end up not only sighting the legendary creature, but also a far terrifying one, the Wendigo.
Yes, that's not exactly serendipity. More of having a bad day.
But for the audience who is expecting to see one beast, guess what? You get to see hordes of beasts.
For someone who is into creature features, this is probably a dream come true. For others, it will be a case of too much into too little.
The story isn't much and the build-up is not as mind-blowing as it could be. And the characters...as unlikable as you would expect.

DAWN OF THE BEAST Movie Plot

The story begins with a woman admiring a necklace and her boyfriend being all lovey-dovey with her. The necklace isn't much to look at but holds great prominence.
Soon enough, the woman is killed for being in possession of the necklace.
Cut to some time later and a group of college kids are on a trip with their professor Dr Dennis.
The rest of the group consists of Chris, Jake, Isabella, Lilly and Oz.
Chris and Isabella are dating and the rest of the group finds Chris too annoying to hang out with.
When a skeleton of a woman wearing a necklace is found, Isabella wants to report it but doing so would cause the trip to be cut short and the group will have to have their lessons in a classroom rather than go on an excursion and get some real-life experience... To look for the sasquatch.
And of course, they choose a time in the year known as the Dead Month where Big Foot sightings have been known to increase.
Lilly is the group's "I'm going to roll my eyes at everyone" character. She has enough attitude for everyone to avoid her and most of them do except for the boyfriend from the first scene whose name was Everett.
He kidnaps Lilly and ties her up to lure the monster. She hurls a couple of insults at him but Everett couldn't be bothered.
Meanwhile, Isabella is attacked by a beast and when she returns it is clear she is possessed.
More people die including the professor.
The beasts make it into the cabin where they are staying and Chris has to hide around the house.
Lilly manages to escape and come to the house only to tell Chris she is going to save her own skin and he can come or not. Chris wants to be a hero and try to save anyone else left in the group. There is no one left so he escapes with Lilly who did stay back for him after all.
She isn't rewarded for her kind gesture and when Chris and she are attacked, she is ripped apart and is left screaming in pain while Chris asks her to look at him. She doesn't and dies.

DAWN OF THE BEAST Ending Explained with Spoilers!

Chris readies himself for a battle but before that, the Wendigo and Sasquatch get into a fight. Battle music plays but the fight is barely epic.
Nevertheless, Chris gets to escape only to be accosted by Isabella who jumps in front of his car.
Of course, the car doesn't start and  Chris doesn't bother with rolling up the windows. So Isabella makes a grab for him and he gets out and jumps to the back of the truck where there is, fortunately, a canister of gasoline. And matches.
Isabella is set on fire and Chris ends up with his pants on fire which he quickly removes.
He is about to leave again but Everett comes, possessed by the Wendigo.
He is killed with one strike of the shovel.

Chris now has to hike back home, pantless but fortunately, there is a car going by and an old man asks what happened.
Dead month.
Everyone knows about it. People go missing in the woods all the time. But the authorities can hardly be bothered and don't discourage adventurers.
