Japanese Legends: Futakuchi-Onna (The Two-Mouthed Woman)
According to a Japanese legend, Futakuchi-Onna (two-mouthed woman), is a yokai (a supernatural entity) that has a normal mouth on her face and the other on the back of her head.
A woman usually develops a second mouth when she is cursed or develops a supernatural disease. The second mouth is usually ravenous; it needs to be fed constantly. Eventually, the hair begins to move like serpents and if the woman does not feed the second mouth, it helps itself to her food.
Sort of reminiscent of the horror movie MALIGNANT, isn’t it?
Anyway, here’s my take on the legend.
Do check it out here on YouTube.
