Excerpt from THE HAUNTED EMPATH

“What’s wrong?” Ruth asked.

Jadeline grabbed her sister’s hand and led her out of the room.
“Something doesn’t feel right,” she said before they had even closed the door.

Ruth put a hand on her elbow. “What did you see?”

“Someone else.” Jadeline tried to compose herself, but the memory of her dream wouldn’t allow her.

“You didn’t see Grandma?”

Jadeline shook her head. “It was someone else. You know how I usually see Grandma and she helps me through this passage of clarity. It makes it easier for the ailments to run through me and transfer it to that other world.”

“Yes, you said you were a conduit to a dimension where diseases are passed on.” Ruth looked at her quizzically. “What was different this time?”

“The world around me was dying. It was a dystopian world where there was only hatred and death.” Jadeline swallowed uncomfortably. Her throat still hurt from the excursion she had gone through. “And pain. So much pain.”

“If it wasn’t Grandma, who was it? And where was Grandma?” Ruth looked alarmed.

“Somewhere else. I was somewhere else. That wasn’t my world.”

Excerpt from MILK

“Where are Mom and Dad?” I demanded, again. The sinking feeling in my stomach returned as well. I wanted to run upstairs to look for them but I didn’t want to turn my back at Jenny either. I realized I was afraid of her, though there was no rational explanation for it except what my instincts were telling me.

Her smile dropped and she straightened her head. “They’ll be back.”

“But where are they?” My voice shook and the amusement in Jenny’s green eyes told me she liked it.

“Where they should be.”

“Jenny, you’re not making much sense.” I took a step back. My sister looked like a demonic vision with her hair long and let loose. She was wearing a white nightgown and her eyes looked darker than before.

“Do you know why we’re here at Raggers Town?” Her gaze hardened. “Mr And Mrs Fallers told me everything.”

“What did they tell you?”

“Dad had a debt to pay. Mom and Dad stole money. They were on the run.” Jenny inched closer to me. “That is why they came here.”

I stared at my sister, wondering if I should believe her or doubt her mental health.

“It doesn’t matter. Where are they now?”

“They paid the loan. With us.” Jenny grinned and snorted.
