Halloween Kills-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Michael Myers survives the trap Laurie laid out for her and is on a killing spree once again.

Whether or not we've seen all the Halloween films, we have, as horror fans, heard of Michael Myers.

Michael Myers is portrayed as a strong, tall man who wears a white mask. All he does is kill. His reasons for doing so are never properly examined and those who have tried are criticised. Michael is just thought to be this unstoppable, evil force in horror cinema and that's that. Don't keep asking why this seemingly human figure likes to kill. He just likes to, okay?

Halloween Kills is a direct sequel to Halloween. Now over the years, there have been Halloween movies that sometimes feature that Laurie and Michael are siblings and sometimes they are not. Michael has been defeated several times but he always manages to stand again in the last scene of every movie. Michael Myers is indestructible, okay? Don't think about why or how.

So Halloween Kills is a sequel to Halloween (2018) where in the last scene Laurie, her daughter Karen and granddaughter Allyson, lay a trap for Michael and manage to trap him in the basement and light a fire.

HALLOWEEN KILLS Movie Plot

The whole house is ablaze and the three women escape. Laurie is taken to the hospital and on the way she notices fire engines heading the other way. She screams to let him burn.

While this is happening, the survivors of the previous films ruin a talent show night by talking about Michael Myers and how he will be defeated.

On the other side of the town, Michael Myers is of course not dead and proceeds to slay all the firemen who are no match for him at all. Of course, they come at him one by one so it's easier for Michael to take them on.

After they are all dead, Michael goes to an old couple's house and slays them. They were after all tinkering around a drone and flying into the bathroom which Michael was using at that time.

Meanwhile, the survivors of the previous instalments decide to form a mob because 'Evil dies tonight!' They cry out this slogan a couple of times throughout the movie.

Allyson joins her boyfriend Cameron and his father. Allyson's job is to yell at people on the streets to stay home because Michael is on the loose. The people stare at her blankly, wondering if they should heed the warning or are being yelled at by a crazy person.

Michael takes down more people while at the same time, an escaped mental patient causes confusion among people who want "evil to die tonight."

The minute Laurie wakes up and realizes Michael is alive, she wants to go after him. Her daughter Karen tells her to stay put and then finds that her own daughter Allyson is missing.

HALLOWEEN KILLS Ending Explained with Spoilers!

Chaos erupts at the hospital and everyone mistakes the mental patient for Myers. Anyone who has seen Myers would know he doesn't share the same physique as the patient but the crowd just wants "evil to die tonight" so anyone will do.

Karen tries her best to save the mental patient but he grows anxious seeing the mob and commits suicide. His busted skull is shown in great detail.

Karen believes that Myers has made them all monsters.

Myers finds his way to his childhood home occupied by a couple who characterize themselves as Big and Small. They are killed immediately.

Allyson along with her boyfriend and his father appear at the house. The father is killed first and then the boyfriend. It was clearly a bad idea to take on Myers alone. It never occurs to people to group together and never separately search for someone who has cheated death for so many years.

Allyson is saved by her mother Karen who uses a rake on Myers' back but not on his head. I mean, he falls down and there was enough chance for them to hit one of Myers' vital organs. But nope. The back, the arm, anywhere really except for his heart, skull, eye, jugular vein...etc.

Allyson has broken her leg already falling from the stairs so Myers decides to kill her properly later and instead chases Karen who had set a trap.

The mob surrounds Myers and beat him up, even shoot him but making sure it's not his head or heart or any other sensitive area. They don't even try to slit his throat or anything. They just rough him up a bit while Karen carefully inserts a knife in his back, away from vital organs.

Of course the second Karen leaves, Michael gets up and slays the whole mob in a blink of an eye.

All this while Laurie is reminiscing with her friend who was a police officer in the previous movie who could have shot Michael in the head but shows sympathy and saves his life.

He regrets his rookie mistake but Laurie comments on his compassionate soul. She explains Michael is pure evil and he stands in front of his bedroom window not to look out but to stare at his reflection since there were no mirrors in the house.

He's apparently looking and appreciating the evil inside himself.

Karen leaves her daughter to stand at the exact spot Michael always does.

He appears behind her, pissed she took his spot and kills her.

Nobody sees him get inside the house apparently.

Of course, the final part, Halloween Ends, was announced with the release of this movie so it isn't a surprise that Michael survives.

Hopefully, the crowd gets him in the last part. Or you know what, let Laurie do it. She can clearly take him out alone.

Besides, it's always a delight to see Jamie Lee Curtis on screen and more of it in the final part would be just great.

Still, this movie was an improvement from the previous part.
