Horror Weekly News: Winne the Pooh turns scary. Stephen King announces new novella.

Remember the cute little bear Winnie the Pooh, and all his animal friends that lived in Hundred Acre Woods? Remember the stories we read and the cartoons we watched of this lovable bear who craved honey and help his friends and tagged along with his human friend Christopher Robin wherever he went?

Well, Winnie the Pooh is now making his entrance in horror movies, along with Piglet, the timid little character everyone took an instant liking to.

The first few stills from the movie titled Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, have already surfaced and created quite a bit of stir. The chubby little bear we remembered no longer wants to spend time with his friends and play in the forest. Along with Piglet, he goes on a murderous spree when he is abandoned by his friend Christopher Robin who has gone off to college.

Now you would think that Christopher Robin wouldn’t ever dream of abandoning his friends but he does and not only that, he apparently also leaves them without food.

That’s not what friendship is about, is it?

So of course Winnie the Pooh and Piglet go off killing people in gory ways as they have returned to their feral ways. There’s a rumor that the duo has also feasted on their friend Eeyore, that sad little donkey.

The slasher movie clearly falls into the horror-comedy category and it will be interesting to see what the trailer will reveal about the story once it is released.

As of now, there is no release date announced.

In other news…

Master of horror and prolific author, Stephen King has stated in an interview that he has worked on a novella titled RATTLESNAKES. Interestingly, this novel will serve as a sequel to CUJO

Cujo was about a dog who becomes rabid after being bitten by a bat and attacks everyone on sight. Donna manages to kill him when he goes after her and her son Tad.

Rattlesnakes are supposed to be about two four-year-old boys who fall into a hole full of rattlesnakes. What happens next forms the story. The novella seems to be more of a spiritual sequel considering Cujo died in the book.

There’s no news as to when this book will be released.
