Horror Weekly News: Christine remake in the works. The Exorcist sequel coming in 2023.

In 1983, Stephen King’s novel Christine came out. The story was about a car that was possessed and wrecked havoc in the lives of the owner and his loved ones.

That very year, a movie based on the novel came out.

Stephen King’s novels were so well-loved that the movie went into production before the novel was even released.

The movie met with success and was well-received by the critics.

Over the years, Stephen King’s stories are still well-loved, remembered and read by readers all over the world.

So it comes as no surprise that the book will see yet another adaptation.

This time Sony Pictures Entertainment and Blumhouse Productions are working on the remake of the movie. Bryan Fuller is said to be penning the script as well taking the director’s seat.

As of yet the cast and release date has not been announced but it will be interesting to see a new version of this horror tale come to the screen.

In other news…

Another popular movie franchise will have its sequel release in 2023.

The Exorcist, which released in 1973 was based on a novel written by William Peter Blatty’s novel of the same title. The book was published in 1971.

The movie became a cult classic and is remembered as one of the scariest horror movie of all time. Some of the scenes have also been parodied and become subjects of internet memes.

Following the success of the three movies, there was a TV series that ran for two seasons.

The new movie, which will be produced by Jason Blum will see the return of actress Ellen Burstyn who played mother Chris to the possessed 12 year old girl Regan.

It is rumored that the two sequels of this movie are also in development alongside it.

The movie is set to release on October 13th 2023. The poster shows a girl doing the spider walk down the stairs. By the look of it, she is clearly possessed. Creepy!
