Horror Weekly News: The prequel to X, Pearl gets a trailer. The Simpsons does IT.

After the movie X was released earlier this year, it was revealed that a prequel to the movie titled ‘PEARL’ was shot back to back with X.

X introduced the character of Pearl who turns out to be a sadistic killer along with her husband Howard. The elderly couple, are clearly not as innocent as the group of aspiring actors and filmmakers make them out to be. By night’s end, the group are viciously killed by the couple.

But why was Pearl the way she was? What happened to the old woman that caused her to become a killer in the first place?

Pearl will give us an insight to all the events that transpired to make Pearl the woman she is in X.

The trailer shows a young Pearl, excited to become an actress and land a role. She smiles and twirls and does whatever she thinks will work. Something obviously happens. Perhaps she doesn’t get the part? In the next instant she is seen chasing another aspiring actress.

Throughout the trailer, Pearl keeps reiterating that she knows she is not a good person and something is wrong with her. She sure is being super mean to all the farm animals, especially the goose.

She is also seen getting frustrated of taking care of her disabled father and quite possibly feeds him to the crocodile in the lake, maybe the very one we see in X. Crocodiles do live up to 70 years so it is a safe bet to assume it is that very crocodile that has remained pals with Pearl after all this time.

Pearl will be in theatres on September 16th. The titular character is played by Mia Goth.

 In other news…

Halloween may be two months away, but news about Halloween specials on TV is already being announced.

One of them is about the Simpsons of course.

The popular adult animated comedy has always done a Halloween themed episode every season, except the first one. Titled the Treehouse o Horror, the episode is usually cut in three parts with each part usually parodying a horror movie.

This year, we will see two horror themed episodes on The Simpsons, for the very first time.

While one of them, Treehouse of Horror will follow the usual format, there will be an episode dedicated to Stephen King’s IT.

Coming as no surprise, Springfield’s Krusty the Klown will be playing the terrifying clown, Pennywise. The episode is rumored to be titled ‘Not It’.

As for the regular Treehouse of Horror episode, so far only one movie that will be parodied has been disclosed: Death Note.

The episodes will release with Season 34 coming this fall.

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
