The Accursed-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Twenty years after Hana and her bloodline were cursed by Aishe, her son's wife purposely sets it free which has dire consequences for everyone.

Traditions are everything. Each family upholds their traditions, especially during special occasions.

Then there are witches who have their own little community where they don't allow just anyone to enter because to them, not everyone understands their traditions and rules.

THE ACCURSED Movie Plot

When the movie opens, it is some time in a period where people dance really awkwardly. Every actor in the scene is painfully conscious of a camera on them. Some of them even give the camera a quick glance to make sure they are in the frame.

All of this is seen through Aishe's eyes who is searching for someone. She finally reaches a room and finds her best friend Hana with her husband. Aishe is enraged and starts attacking everyone.

The third friend Naida comes over to see Aishe just as she places a curse on Hana. Aishe is stabbed and dies. Naida demands to know if Aishe finished uttering the curse or not. Hana isn't sure but Naida comes up with a brilliant plan to ensure the curse never hits Hana's bloodline. She takes an axe and chops off Hana's hand, the one that she used to kill Aishe.

Aishe is buried with Hana's hand over her mouth so that the last word of the curse is never uttered.

Years pass and everyone in the Witch community gather for Hana's son, Petar's wedding to Sunny.

Sunny does have a sunny disposition and doesn't let anything bother her. Or so it would seem. She seems to have knowledge about the slithering twines on the ground that is protecting Aishe's grave.

Now, why are they having a wedding so close to the grave? It's probably because their land is smaller than they let on. In fact, poor Sunny has barely any place to stand and keeps falling over the twines. Nope, she does that on purpose.

But that is after Naida spits on her shoe to show everyone how much she hates outsiders coming entering their land.

Hana's husband Nikola also keeps his distance and drinks and hangs out with the other men.

While everyone is busy, Sunny goes ahead and steps on the twine which begins to wrap itself around her ankle and scratch her. Petar comes running and in his language tells the thorns that they are family and should be let through. Sunny listens carefully.

There are other people roaming about to but it is only cousin Matej that gets any prominence because he's going to be the first victim. Then there's Hana's daughter Zara who can read palms and can't date anyone in her community because no one has the guts to talk to her. So on her brother's wedding, she goes on her date.

Sunny and Petar have their wedding night after which he apologizes for his eccentric family. Hana is scolded by Naida who calls her selfish for bringing outsiders and risking their community.

Later at night, Sunny goes out and utters the same words to dispel the thorns and reveal Aishe's skeleton. She removes the hand from the mouth and the last word is revealed.

Sunny goes back inside and Hana goes outside after talking to Nikola and revealing she loves him. After she leaves Nikola also says it back but to no one. It is obvious there is some history to their relationship. Nikola may know about Hana's affair as they are in the same community but are the kids his or the result of Hana's affair with Aishe's husband?

When Hana reaches the spot where Aishe was buried she notices the hand has been removed. She begins to suspect Sunny.

Meanwhile, Matje gets drunk and passes out. Nikola has been told to take him home but when he goes to the living room Matje is nowhere to be seen. He's already become Aishe's first victim.

Hana goes to see Naida who freaks out and starts the blame game.

Sunny's history is revealed. For some reason, she's Aishe's sister and wants her soul to be released so she can find peace. She doesn't know about the curse placed upon Hana's bloodline. She too is a witch and through magic, finds Petar to be the link that takes her to Aishe's somewhat protected grave where people can hold weddings.

The next day, Hana prompts Zara to read Sunny's palm. She makes a confused face and Sunny pulls her hand away and makes lame excuses. As soon as she leaves, Hana leans forward to gossip. She wants to know what she's found about her new daughter-in-law.

Zara drops a bomb, Sunny is pregnant. Hana is shocked but a bulb lights up in her mind. There's now a way to save the bloodline. She wants Sunny to tell Aishe's spirit that she's pregnant and hopefully the vengeful spirit will spare the bloodline because now her own has become part of Hana's bloodline.

Meanwhile, Petar sees his hands are covered in blood and it doesn't come off. Sunny regrets her decision to come here after she sees people dying. Naida is killed too.

THE ACCURSED Ending Explained with Spoilers!

Hana blames Sunny for the death of everyone including Zara's. She tells him she won't let Sunny pull Petar into it. But Petar is into it already. Oops too late.

Hana learns the rest of the curse has been uttered. Aishe has cursed the whole family to die at the hands of...her son.

Yup, Petar was the one who killed everyone. Petar is horrified but doesn't have time to regret it because Aishe is standing close by waiting for the family drama to get over so that she can possess Petar and be done with it.

She does it and Hana and Sunny run outside. Hana tries to perform a ritual but Petar is here and is ready to kill.

In desperation, Hana performs a ritual to bind Aishe to her. Petar kills Sunny and Hana stabs her son in the neck under the influence of Aishe.

Later, Hana sits on the stairs, regretting the death of pretty much everyone in the family.

Nikola comes to console her. At least she has him, right?

But wait, Aishe has been bound to Hana now and the first thing she does in contort Hana's face.

No doubt she will go after Nikola considering Hana had an affair with Aishe's husband.

Moral of the story: don't have an affair with your best friend's husband.
