The Deep House-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: Ben and Tina think they've found the perfect opportunity to increase their following on social media when they come across an underwater house to film. But then they discover its dark secrets.

We all love a good haunted house story and there have been so many books and movies about them to satisfy our tastes. But how many underwater haunted houses have we read about or watched?

The Deep House brings new fear into the genre. Not only will the characters have to deal with ghosts in a house but also the risk of running out of oxygen.

THE DEEP HOUSE Movie Plot

We meet Ben and Tina exploring a haunted house. They need more followers to subscribe to their channel and find out about a haunted house in France.

Three months later, Tina is in the bathtub practising her underwater breathing. She can barely manage much but show-offs in front of Ben that she managed three minutes. Now only if that had been true.

Ben and Tina think they are headed to a secluded spot that no one knows about and one that is bound to get them more followers all dying to know about this exclusive location. Turns out this secluded location is well-known to everybody and a popular tourist spot. People are swimming and jumping and picnicking in the area.

Ben and Tina are disappointed but luckily for them, they meet a man called Pierre who knows just the spot for them to film and become famous.

He takes them to another lake and on the way speaks French with Tina. Ben, who is in the backseat,  really wants to know what is going on.

When they reach the isolated part in the lake he tells them to jump right in and find the sunken house. Turns out when there was a risk of floods a long time ago, the people voluntarily sunk the village and luckily for the YouTubers,  there was a house underwater still intact.

Ben and Tina dive in and enter the house. For the next few minutes, nothing much goes on except for Ben and Tina listening to music and swimming about.

Soon they find photos of missing kids and realize something peculiar is going on. They also hear some strange voices and noises to further confirm something weird is going on.

They find a door with a large cross on it and enter it to find two bodies of a couple, chained and floating. They even have masks over their heads.

Ben and Tina do a little more swimming about and like other haunted movies, there are legs seen under the bed but nobody is visible when they stand up.

Soon enough the music goes on by itself. Ben and Tina begin to run out of oxygen and decide to leave only to find out they can't. There is no exit and the passage through which they entered is blocked.

They are in serious trouble now. Ben and Tina get separated for a bit when they return to the couple and they remove the masks.

The couple opens their eyes and begins to follow them.

They are taken to a room where a projector starts up to show what happened.

THE DEEP HOUSE Ending Explained with Spoilers!

Turns out Pierre isn't just an ordinary guide.

He and his family used to live in this house and it was Pierre's job to entrap kids and get them into the house so that his family can torture them.

Eventually, the villagers found out and broke into the house to kill them but Pierre ran away with his tail between his legs. Later he figured out his murderous family were back from the dead and wanted to continue their nefarious deed of murdering innocents. So Pierre was continuing the sick family tradition.

Ben becomes possessed by one of the family members and tries to kill Tina who luckily finds a shaft to escape through. Tina just about manages to break free and stabs him.

The possession is broken to give Ben just enough time to look at Tina brokenhearted as she swims away.

Tina swims as fast as she can to the surface with her oxygen depleting quickly too. There is a tense moment when we are about to find out if she will be able to hold her breath for more than a minute.

Tina is still away from the surface when she stills. The scene moves to the surface and we expect her to break through because that's what usually happens in most movies, right?

But nope. Tina is dead.

Ben has been underwater for far too long and clearly has no chance of survival.

In the end, Pierre is seen luring more people to go scuba diving and see the house.

The Deep House has some frightening moments and takes haunted houses to a whole new level underwater.

Scare scale: 3.5/5

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
