The Leech--My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot: When Father David invites a homeless man to his house, he finds his faith tested when the man refuses to leave.

It may be the season to be giving, and to be kind but it is also the time when some people take advantage of other people's generosity.

You never really know if a person is telling the truth or not about their circumstances, do you?

works mostly as a satire. It is about boundaries being pushed and good intentions being manipulated. The wry humor flows naturally in the script, and the twist is unexpected.

THE LEECH Movie Plot

Father David is delivering a sermon in church and he very well notices that there are only two to three people in attendance.

After the sermon, Rigo, his helper, points out the dismal donations made so far. David assures him that the church would be full during Mass. Rigo doesn’t look very optimistic.

He then finds a man sleeping in the church and wakes him up. The man introduces himself as Terry and tells him he is in a bit of trouble and needs to get home.

David offers him a ride and Terry jumps on it. When they reach the house, however, some of Terry's stuff is thrown out and he sees that the house is locked.

David asks if Terry has any family or other friends he can drive him to. Terry says no and looks so dejected that David offers him a night at his house.

Terry readily accepts and David drives home. Terry is given a bedroom and a set of rules. He cannot play loud music even though that is the first thing he does. He also can't smoke.

Terry appears to respect David's house rules.

The next day at the church, a woman comes to confess about her being pregnant and how she wants to opt for abortion since her partner is a bum. David thinks he has changed her mind.

In the evening, Terry is at home with his girlfriend Lexi. The couple lay down their woes about being homeless. Lexi is actively searching for a job and assures David that the couple will be out of his hair soon.

David suspects Lexi may be the woman who came in for confession at his church but cannot ask her directly because the confessions are supposed to be confidential.

The trio form a friendly unit and Rigo clearly doesn’t like it and warns David he is being taken advantage of.

David does feel pushed when he walks in on Terry pleasuring himself, or when there is too much drinking and smoking but he also likes Lexi and so possibly wants to impress her when he takes part in a Never Have I Ever game.

The couple are surprised to find David has a wild side and Terry straight away asks what David was doing at a truck stop when he found Rigo. David sidesteps that question but Terry has guessed.

Even though David had warned Terry not to touch his mother's portrait or her urn, during a fight Lexi and Terry accidentally break it.

David is horrified but Terry offers to pick it up and gives him a jar.

David sleeps with the jar in his hand for comfort.

How THE LEECH, Ended

Eventually David ends up having a three-way with his guests. But he barely has any memory of it. In his psychedelic dream, he sees Terry snort his mother's ashes.

Some days later, Lexi announces her pregnancy and Terry says he suspects it is David's.

David loses it at this point. He accuses Lexi of cheating him as she was the woman who had come into church for confession regarding the abortion. Lexi tells him she has never seen him before and the first time she met him was in this house.

Terry gets in the middle and tells David he knows what he has been up to regarding his truck stops. He asks David how many boys he has brought home before Rigo.

David is taken aback but doesn't deny the accusation. He tells the two to leave immediately.

But at this point David has completely lost it having been pushed beyond his limits and patience.

He hallucinates that Terry is mocking him and beats him up. When Terry and Lexi show up behind him, he realizes the two are not going to leave and that the person he strangled was Rigo.

David decides that since he has already killed one person, he might as well kill two more.

While Terry and Lexi are in the bedroom, David arrives with a shotgun.

We see the front of the house as the shotgun goes off twice.

The door opens and Lexi runs out, covered in blood.

So, David killed Terry and then himself? Did he kill Terry because he had guessed his secret about his preferences and was scared that he might be exposed?

David clearly loses it at the end.

The movie has its moments and keeps the interest going right till the very last scene.
