Horror Weekly News: Renfield Trailer Drop. Wednesday season 2 confirmed!

You might just want to be careful who you invite into your homes, restaurants, support meetings, etc.

Not everyone is a normal human being.

Renfield has been in the news for a long time mostly because Nicolas Cage is in it, and also Nicholas Hoult, but because the movie is another retelling of Dracula. In comedic form this time.

In the trailer that dropped this week, we see Renfield barge into a support group meeting. He does want to talk about a toxic relationship, but it is his boss that he can’t deal with anymore.

We learn that Renfield has powers too, when he ingests insects. During a hold-up at a restaurant, he ingests an insect and takes down the criminals, with a decorative serving platter no less. That is also when he meets a cop called Rebecca with whom he must get into a relationship because we see them together in a house, both in plain clothes.

While Renfield goes on to narrate his miserable experience, the rest of the members offer support and term his boss as narcissistic. That is when his boss appears and opens the door.

The group leader invites him in, ignoring Renfield’s hand gestures which are clearly warning him not to invite him.

In comes, Nicolas Cage, pretty much covered in jewels.

The moment he levitates and opens his mouth to reveal his pointy teeth, that is when everyone at the meeting realizes what Renfield is actually dealing with.

Will Renfield be able to get rid of Dracula from his boss or finally learn to accept his boss’ eccentricity and large appetite?

We will find out when the movie releases on April 14th. This looks like it could be a fun movie to watch.

 In other news…

No surprises here, WEDNESDAY returns to Netflix with Season 2. Of course, no date has been set yet, but it could very well come out this year.

WEDNESDAY is one of Netflix’s successful shows, something the streaming giant desperately needed after losing subscribers and backing shows that received negative feedback.

After Mike Flannagan signed a deal with Amazon, it was obvious that Netflix would no longer have interesting horror shows in its library.

There were talks that WEDNESDAY could be moving to Amazon too but Netflix was clearly not going to let one of its hit shows leave its library now, was it?

So the announcement has been made and for now at least, WEDNESDAY will return to Netflix with a second season.

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
