Horror Weekly News: The Boogeyman trailer drops. Winnie the Pooh will see more blood in sequel.

Don’t let it out. Don’t let the Boogeyman get you.

Stephen King’s short story THE BOOGEYMAN has been adapted and the trailer has finally dropped.

Now, the short story which appeared in NIGHT SHIFT was about a father talking to the therapist about a malevolent force that has been going after his kids. Turns out the therapist is just a disguise for the Boogeyman.

Of course, now that the story has been adapted for film, there will be changes and the trailer sure is an indication of that.

In the short story, a man called Lester is visiting a therapist, Dr Harper. He has a wife called Rita who has given birth to their son Andy. One day, she happens to leave her husband and son to visit her sick mother. That is when the Boogeyman strikes.

The trailer shows that the movie will not be told from Lester’s POV but the therapist’s.

Chris Messina is shown putting his young daughter to bed when the little girl notices a movement under her bed. She checks it with a ball of light and sees the monster.

Of course no one believes her, not even her older sister.

The therapist is then seen with his patient whop warns him that it is the thing that comes for your kids when you are not paying attention.

Pay attention to your kids!

The movie was initially going to release on Hulu but will now get a theatrical release on June 2nd.

 In other news…

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey may be releasing on February 15th, but the early reviews are in and they aren’t exactly favorable. Despite the negative feedback so far, a sequel to the slasher movie has already been announced.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey has been in the news ever since the beloved character created by A.A Milne entered the public domain. Deciding to give the cuddly bear a horror makeover, the movie was announced and has since been in the news for its bold take on the characters we loved as kids.

The sequel promises more blood, meaning that Winnie the Pooh and his friend Piglet may just survive the events of this movie. Can anyone stop them or is it just going to be a movie about mindless violence.

Time will tell.
