Do you dare play the ELEVATOR GAME?
Based on the popular urban legend, the Elevator Game has a set of rules that can transport you into another dimension when played. What is in the other dimension?
Not a lot of players have managed to venture into the Other Dimension and those who have, describe it is a parallel universe where people and things seem the same but things are a bit off.
For example, the food may give off an odor of another food, or animals making louder and weird sounds.
And the most creepy thing about getting off into the Other Dimension is that you may get confused or distracted enough to not remember how to get back to the REAL WORLD.
Doesn’t this make a good theme for a horror movie?
This online phenomenon is now getting the movie treatment.
Directed by Rebekah McKendry, filming for the movie has begun in June 2023.
The story will be about Ryan finding out that the night his sister disappeared, she had been playing the ELEVATOR GAME . He believes he can free his sister from the Other Dimension and bring her back home.
But things are not going to be that easy.
THE ELEVATOR GAME phenomenon began in South Korea and has since become popular online. The game has a set of rules that must be performed like a ritual if one wants to reach the other dimension.
The player begins by getting into the elevator alone. They must head to the fourth floor, then come down to the second floor. Then they must head to the sixth floor and come down to the second floor again.
In the next step, the player heads to the tenth floor and comes down to the fifth floor.
Things get a little tricky now.
On the fifth floor, a woman will get in. Players are warned not to interact with her or even look at her. Should they do that, the woman will turn hostile. She may attack you and when you escape, you will end up dreaming about her for days.
Some have claimed that the woman can actually help you remember how to get back home once you enter the other dimension. However, you will still end up having nightmares about the woman in any case.
It is safer not to acknowledge her in any way.
The next step is to press for the first floor. If the elevator moves to the first floor, the player must exit immediately, and no matter what, cannot look back.
But if the ritual has been successful, the elevator will move to the tenth floor instead of the first. The doors will then open to the other dimension.
The other dimension seems to have a reddish glow and rumored to disorient players. Many have claimed that they have tried to walk towards the elevators, only for the way back home to seem farther and farther away.
Rumors suggest that those who have walked into the other dimension are lost forever. While others have claimed to have successfully found their way back.
Once in the elevator, the player has to follow the original sequence that led them to the elevator (4-2-6-2-10-5-1). However, this time around, after pressing for the first floor, the elevator may try to take them back into the tenth floor where the other dimension is. They must instead, press for any floor lower than the tenth floor in order to escape the ritual.
Be careful while playing this game, as many players have become paranoid after playing it.
Better yet, don’t play the game and instead watch the movie which releases on August 11th.
The story of the movie resembles the real life case of Elisa Lam who disappeared from a hotel elevator in 2013, only for her body to be found naked in a water tank, days later.
A footage of Elisa Lam was released to show the young woman looking about her nervously and exhibiting paranoia behavior. While people were quick to come to the conclusion that Elisa Lam had played the ELEVATOR GAME, reports suggested that the young woman suffered from a biploar disorder and had not taken the proper dosage which led to her bizarre behavior that was caught on camera.
However, rumors suggest that Elisa may have been a victim of a supernatural occurrence which would explain how she managed to get into the water tank in the first place, considering it was locked.
The ELEVATOR GAME movie may shed light on a theory that may finally put to rest about what happened to Elisa Lam that night.
