Horror Weekly News: THE NUN II Trailer shows Valak returning to haunt Sister Irene

Following the success of THE NUN in 2018, the ninth installment in THE CONJURING universe is here.

Titled THE NUN II, the sequel to the highest-grossing movie in the franchise, the movie will see the return of Sister Irene as she finds herself facing the demon VALAK all over again.

Valak first made its appearance in THE CONJURING 2 where it tormented Lorraine Warren (paranormal investigator with her husband Ed Warren) and challenged her religious beliefs. The demon targeted Lorraine after she had exorcised him from a man called Maurice.

Lorraine, initially encountered difficulties in defeating the demon, but once she learned of his name, she read the rites to send him back to hell.

However, the popularity of this villainous character prompted the studios to continue the story of Valak.

Valak also makes an appearance in ANNABELLE: CREATION before finally featuring in a spin-off titled THE NUN.

The movie followed the story of Sister Irene who along with Father Burke, travels to Romania to investigate the cause of Sister Victoria’s death.

There, they meet a villager called Frenchie who was the one who provided supplies to the nuns. Together, the trio investigate the cause of Sister Victoria’s suicide and face a malevolent force who disguises itself as a nun.

The movie ends with Frenchie revealing his real name as Maurice, Sister Irene becoming a professed nun, and Valak possessing Maurice.

THE NUN II takes place four years after the first movie's events. The year is now 1956, and Sister Irene is now at a boarding school for girls.

The trailer reveals the girls finding glimpses of a nun on their walls, and are haunted by it. The nun is shown to be making her appearances through collages and mosaics before finally revealing herself to Irene.

Considering that we see Valak being exorcised by Lorraine decades later, it is safe to assume that Sister Irene may only manage to save the girls but not actually defeat the demon.

The movie will also see the return of Frenchie since he is the one being possessed by Valak.

The movie is directed by Michael Chaves and is slated to release on September 8th.

THE NUN II stars Taissa Farmiga and Jonas Bloquet, respectively, reprising their roles as Sister Irene and Frenchie. Bonnie Aarons will once again don the character of the nun.

The movie also stars Storm Reid and Anna Popplewell, and is produced by James Wan and Peter Safran.

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
