Horror Weekly News: Night of the Hunted to stream on Shudder. Heather Graham gets swapped in Suitable Flesh.

What would you do to survive? Would you consider giving up your morals in order to stay alive?

Shudder’s newest thriller NIGHT OF THE HUNTED will have you sitting at the edge of your seat and make you think twice before entering a gas station in the middle of nowhere.

In the trailer that was released recently, we see a young woman called Alice and her friend John stop at a gas station. The two may be in a relationship and based on the first scene of the trailer, there is definite tension between them.

Alice is perusing the items at the store and gets a coffee. John is busy fueling his car and notices a billboard that says GODISNOWHERE. Alice is in the religious items section and sees a board with a bible verse on it. However, the sign has blood splatters on it.

Horrified, Alice tries to get out of the store only to be shot on the shoulder. We then see Alice struggling to stop the bleeding and making makeshift bandages.

Whoever the shooter is, has a lot of bullets to waste. Alice isn’t allowed to call John as her phone is shot at. Then it is the random items around the store that are shot at.

Eventually she gets her hands on a radio walkie-talkie only for John to finally walk in wondering why Alice is still not back from her shopping and if she was planning to get him something.

Clueless John, is immediately shot and Alice freaks out. She uses the radio to call for help only to be asked who does she think she is. Her beliefs are challenged before she is made to believe that no help is coming.

In the trailer, we get to see more people getting shot and Alice tying up her hair as she prepares for the longest night of her life. She must use all that she knows to get out of this situation alive.

NIGHT OF THE HUNTED looks like an interesting, tense but thrilling movie to watch.

The movie stars Camilla Rowe, Jeremy Scippio, and Aleksander Popovic.

The movie is written by Rubén Ávila Calvo, Glen Freye, Franck Khalfoun, and David R.L.

Directed by Franck Khalfoun, NIGHT OF THE HUNTED will stream on Shudder from the 20th of October.

 In other news…

It’s time for another body-swap movie.

In SUITABLE FLESH, we see Heather Graham plays Dr. Elizabeth Derby, a woman living the ideal life. She has a loving husband and a successful career as a therapist. However, one day, a young man, played by Judah Lewis,  comes to see her and she ends up having an affair with him.

But something seems off right after she does sleep with him and she begins to sense what he is. Soon enough, Elizabeth begins to lose control and finds to her horror that the young patient has taken over her body.

And what happens next? Murder and Mayhem of course.

The story appears to be adapted from H.P. Lovecraft’s universe, so expect the villain to be some sort of horrific creature who has likes to get under people’s skin.

Directed by Joe Lynch, SUITABLE FLESH releases on 27th October.

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
