Horror Weekly News: Death and Other Details offers a new mystery. Frankenstein has a new cast member.

Get ready to be embroiled in another mystery. DEATH AND OTHER DETAILS is the new mystery series that is set to sail this January.

The show is about a woman called Imogene who becomes the prime suspect when a murder takes place on a cruise she is on. But it is kind of her fault that she is the suspect in the first place.

A trailer for the show has dropped and gives further details on the mystery as well as offer a glimpse of the plot that resembles Agatha Christie’s mysteries.

The show does seem to borrow styles from the recent Agatha Christie movie adaptations. There is an older man playing a detective whose personality is identical to Hercule Poirot minus the accent.

The trailer shows an obnoxious passenger on the cruise ship who is simply too mean to the staff. Imogene, who is with a friend, decides the passenger needs to be taken down a notch. And because the passenger made a huge fuss about his expensive watch, Imogene enters his room in the middle of the night and smashes his watch.

She does see the security camera as she leaves but thinks nothing of it. The next morning, that very passenger is found murdered. Imogene is shaken because guess who was seen exiting his room? Her, of course.

And so when a detective comes aboard to solve the case, Imogene must help him even if she clearly doesn’t like him much. The detective is none other than Rufus Cotesworth whom Imogene despises.

But he is the only one who can clear her name and coupled with her talents, maybe she can just about clear her name?

Along the way, Imogene gets into a romantic relationship as well but can she trust anyone considering that everyone on the cruise ship, including the staff, are suspects?

Death and Other Details looks like a fun show and who doesn’t like a good mystery intermingled with light moments?

The cast includes Mandy Patinkin, Violett Beane, and Rahul Kohli.

DEATH AND OTHER DETAILS premieres on January 16th.

 In other news…

Believe it or not, there is yet another Frankenstein movie in development. It’s no secret that acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro has been fascinated by Frankenstein’s monster since he was young and lists it as his favorite monster.

And so, finally, the filmmaker is finally working on his dream project. While the project had been in the works for more than a decade, the prolific filmmaker said he never did have the proper funding for the vision he had in mind for his project.

The movie was announced as part of the contract Guillermo del Toro has with Netflix. The movie was initially going to star Andrew Garfield but due to scheduling conflicts he had to drop out and was replaced by Jacob Elordi.

The actor joins stars Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz and Oscar Isaac.

Frankenstein has no release date set yet.

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
