Horror Movie News: Hear how it all began in A Quiet Place: day One. Trailer drop for spider horror movie Sting.
Hear how it all began.
In 2018, A Quiet Place left a lasting impression on the audience with its crisp writing, frightening concept and impeccable acting performances by the cast.
In 2020, the sequel to A Quiet Place was released and received the same adulations although critics were quick to point out that in terms of horror, the story was a bit weak since it borrowed from other cult horror movies. Nevertheless, the sequel gave a glimpse into the time when the extraterrestrials came into our world and attacked anyone they could hear.
But just what happened and how did they destroy our world?
The spin-off and prequel for A Quiet Place is releasing this year and we will finally get to see what happened when then extraterrestrials came into this world and just how did they destroy everything.
Fans of the franchise who were waiting to find out what happened to the Abbott family will need to wait until next year when the sequel A Quiet Place III will release.
The third part in the franchise will be written and directed by John Kransinski. The prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One will be directed by Michael Sarnoski who also serves as writer alongside John Kransinski and Bryan Woods.
While the first movie was definitely interesting and nail-biting, it begs the question, do we really need sequels of every movie that does well?
The second part added in more cast members but story-wise it struggled to keep the theme going. There are beings that are attacking people based on sound. What else can you do with that?
Turns out, there is a way to make the creatures vulnerable and that is through the high frequency audio feedback that can be emitted through a cochlear implant that Regan uses since she is deaf.
Now that we know that the Abbotts were at a baseball game when the extraterrestrials had attacked, do we really need a whole new movie to know what else happened on Day One?
A Quiet Place: Day One trailer shows a woman carrying her cat through the busy streets of a city when she looks up and sees something in the sky.
In the next instant, these creatures come plunging down and attack everyone who screams. The woman takes pains to warn others and hide but we don’t see the cat.
Hopefully the cat survives and we see it at the end of the movie. There is a lot of running around and screaming but since the protagonist is yet to speak a word, let’s assume that she is playing a mute. We also see Djimon Hounsou who was seen in the second part playing a leader to some of the survivors on the island.
The movie will no doubt consist of jump scares as creatures lunge at everyone they see except for the main characters.
Time will tell if this is a prequel that we actually needed.
A Quiet Place: Day One stars Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Djimon Hounsou and Alex Wolff.
A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE will release on June 28th.
If you hate spiders, or are afraid of them, you may just want to avoid this upcoming horror movie titled STING. Or if you aren’t afraid of spiders, you may develop arachnophobia after watching this movie. Sting is about a girl called Charlotte whose pet spider begins attacking everyone in sight. In the trailer, we first see an exterminator going to an apartment and talking to an older woman about hearing noises behind the walls. The woman denies it but as the exterminator investigates, he finds something horrifying.
Cut to a little girl called Charlotte who is having problems with her family. Her mother keeps leaving her to babysit her baby brother, and she doesn’t connect with her father.
When she finds a spider, she puts it into a jar and is finally happy to have a friend. Except this friend can whistle back to her. And this friend has grown twice its size.
As it turns out, the spider keeps growing until it is big enough to crawl into people’s mouths, and then lunge at people. Expect lots of webs and goo thrown about at people.
In the end, the family eventually reconnects when they are trapped in the spider’s lair. Can they make it out? Charlotte is seen loading a water gun, so maybe, yes they may just survive. Written and directed by Kiah Roache-Turner, the movie stars Alyla Browne, Penelope Mitchell, and Ryan Corr.
STING releases on May 2nd.
