Horror Movie News: Sharks create havoc in Something In The Water. New Dystopian thriller HUMANE Trailer drop.

There’s something in the water!

No, don’t worry, the water isn’t contaminated or anything. That’s the title of the latest shark movie that will release this year.

It seems that recently, everyone is into shark movies after the surprise success of the Sharknado series. If a movie about shark tornadoes can work, then why not an abundance of shark movies on basically any topic?

And so, here is another, although the trailer for SOMETHING IN THE WATER is actually not all that bad.

In the trailer, we see five women meet up at  an island because one of them is getting married. They are having a fun time together until the decide to get on a boat, go swimming and scuba diving.

One of the women is instantly bitten. It doesn’t take long for all of them to realize that they are far from where they can call for help and that one of them chooses that time to announce, that by the way, she cannot swim.

As the shark begins to advance, the women try to make a swim for it but end up getting bumped and bloody by the rocks. Eventually, one of them realizes she has had enough and decides to confront the shark with a knife.

Will she manage to stab the shark? Will only one of them survive? Will the wedding take place?

The answers will be revealed when the movie releases.

Written by Cat Clarke, the movie is directed by Hayley Easton Street, and stars Lauren Lyle, Hiftu Quasem, Natalie Mitson, Nicole Rieko Setsuko, Ellouise Shakespeare-Hart, and Gabriel Prevost-Takahashi.

SOMETHING IN THE WATER will release on 5th July.

The world is coming to an end and there is only one way to save it- give up your life.

In the latest trailer for HUMANE, we find out the lengths people can go to save the world.

In the trailer we see that the world is going through an environmental crisis, primarily, a water crisis. There is drought and people waiting to get their water ration.

In these dire times, the government has come up with a program that could help humanity thrive in a hot climate and severe water storage. The program is akin to an euthanasia procedure.

People and families can enlist in a program where they can sacrifice themselves or pick any family member to give up their life. The world can be saved if 20% of the population is eliminated.

And so we meet the York family.

At a family dinner, Charles announces that he and Dawn have decided to volunteer to give up their lives to save humanity.

As luck would have it, Dawn disappears, leaving behind a letter. But its too late. Now that the family has volunteered to give up two family members, Charles and another family member has to go with the government officials.

While Charles is euthanized, the official announces that they are here to collect two bodies and one of the five family members remaining must come with them.

And that is when chaos ensues. The family members, most likely step siblings, literally get at each others throats.

The movie has strong THE PURGE vibes as well as  a bit of THE HUNT.

The movie may just be another instalment in a dark comedy/satire horror genre that actually entertains.

Written by Michael Sparaga, and Directed by Caitlin Cronenberg, the movie stars Peter Gallaghar, Jay Baruchel, Enrico Colantoni, and Alanna Bale.

HUMANE releases on April 26th.

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
