Horror Weekly News: The First Omen Trailer Drop. Late Night With The Devil arrives in theatres March 22nd.

You have been warned.

THE FIRST OMEN is going to be the most terrifying movie of the year.

Is it though?

The trailer gives the audience a taste of what the movie is going to be like but either the movie lacks eerie scenes or the trailer is keeping it concealed.

The First Omen is a prequel to the THE OMEN series which began in 1976. Three sequels later, there was a remake in 2006 after which we finally have a prequel that will tell us all about how the Antichrist managed to come into this world.

The movie trailer opens with a woman strapped to a table as doctors and nurses subject her to a forceful procedure. The woman laughs and reveals the numbers 666 on the roof of her mouth.

We then see Margaret, an American who is now in Rome, beginning her life at church.

She is in charge of young girls and finds one who is rather timid. As she grows closer to her, she learns her name is Carlita and that everyone is warning to stay away from her as she has a touch of madness.

Margaret becomes protective of her but strange things begin to happen around her. A girl goes mad and sets herself on fire, people keep dying and Margaret learns that there is a sinister plan for Carlita.

We then see Carlita in her room, telling herself over and over again that it is not real. A voice comes from the darkness, asking her what is not real?

She freaks out.

The trailer hints that we may finally witness the origin story of the woman who birthed the Antichrist. This is her story and some people with higher power were well aware of what they wanted to bring into this world.

The movie is directed by Arkasha Stevenson who is also the writer along with Tim Smith and Keith Thomas.

The movie stars Nell Tiger Free, Nicole Sorace, Bill Nighy, and Ralph Ineson.

THE FIRST OMEN releases on April 5th.

Who doesn’t like late night talk shows?

For years, it has been the kind of shows celebrities visit to promote movies and before that it used to be for people with talents who finally got a stage to showcase them.

The latest horror movie is based on a 70s talk show and has already received acclaim from critics, including author Stephen King who has called it absolutely brilliant and that he couldn’t keep his eyes of it. He however mentions that the audience may have a different opinion.

But since Stephen King has said it, the movie must be good, right? All his previous recommendations have been interesting horror movies so far.

LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL follows the found footage style and focuses on talk show host Jack Delroy who has a talk show called the Night Owls. When a tragedy strikes, relating to his wife, he must do whatever it takes to keep the show up and running or risk it being cancelled.

And so, for his 1977 broadcast, he decides to host a Halloween special episode.

While he has invited guests to entertain the audience, he has also prepared an interview with parapsychologist and author Dr June Ross-Mitchell who has written a book called Conversations with the Devil. Her book is on a girl called Lilly who is the sole survivor of a Satanic Church’s mass suicide.

She may also be possessed by a demon, so there’s that. Or even the devil himself.

Jack Delroy begins interviewing the girl as well, and pushes Dr June to seek out the devil in her. Even though he has been warned, Jack is desperate for ratings and ignores the doctor’s warnings. This leads to Dr June pushing Lilly to the limits and bringing the devil to the surface.

Of course things go very wrong quickly and Jack has to deal with the devil who seems to know about him. Can Jack save the audience members?

The reviews for the movie that was released during the film festivals, have been positive so far. It has been described as “devilishly good fun” and one of the best indie horror movie so far. Most of the praise has been heaped on protagonist David Dastmalchian who shines in the trailer.

The movie is written and directed by Cameron Cairnes and Colin Cairnes. It stars David Dastmalchian, Laura Gordon, and Ingrid Torelli.

LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL releases on March 22nd.

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
