Horror Movie News: MaXXXine trailer drop. James McAvoy shows his dangerous side in SPEAK NO EVIL trailer.
A24 releases the final instalment of the X trilogy. Titled MaXXXine, the movie will show us the events after the first movie and what Maxine has been up to after escaping the psychopaths Pearl and her husband Howard.
After her stint in adult movies, Maxine now wants to move forward with her dreams of becoming a movie star. And so she is off to Hollywood. But as luck would have it, the Night Stalker serial killer may have set sights on her.
The Night Stalker was an actual criminal called Richard Ramirez who committed several crimes between June 1984 to August 1985. Since the events in MaXXXine take place in 1985, it seems Maxine may just have a run-in with the serial killer.
Ramirez was eventually captured by people who recognized his face from multiple news sources and chased him down. He was beaten up by a mob before being arrested by the police.
Will Maxine orchestrate the killer’s capture or in a strange turn of events, will she turn out to be the serial killer?
In the trailer, Mia Goth impresses with her impeccable acting skills. She may have acted better in this movie than in X or even Pearl. She is auditioning for a movie role after moving to Los Angeles.
While Maxine is following her dreams of being a movie star, the Night Stalker is on the loose and threatening to destroy her dreams.
Maxine is still the complicated character from the first movie and she has some dangerous secrets. Could she be referring to the events from the first movie, or has she resorted to doing deplorable deeds to gain stardom?
MaXXXine looks like a fun ride and an interesting and entertaining instalment to the trilogy.
Written and Directed by Ti West, the movie stars Mia Goth, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, Kevin Bacon, and Halsey.
MaXXXine releases on July 5th.
The trailer for Blumhouse backed SPEAK NO EVIL has just dropped.
Starring James McAvoy, the movie is a remake of the 2022 Danish movie of the same name.
In the Danish movie, a Danish family, vacationing in Tuscany, is invited by a Dutch couple to their home.
Turns out, the Dutch couple are serial killers and the boy they have been calling their mute son, may not be theirs. The Danish couple barely make it out of the deserted place when they fall into the Dutch’s family clutches again.
The Danish couple’s daughter, has her tongue cut out by the Dutch couple. The movie ends with the Dutch couple killing the Danish couple, passing off their daughter as their own, and looking for another target.
In the trailer drop for the remake, we see James McAvoy playing Paddy and Aisling Franciosi playing his wife Ciara. They have a son called Ant who is mute and lacks self-confidence.
While on vacation, Ben and his wife Louise, along with their daughter Agnes, meet Paddy. They accept his invitation to his home, and that is when things get chaotic. Paddy is just not who he seems to be and Ant keeps wanting to tell Ben something.
Can the Ben and Louise make it out of this situation alive?
It remains to be seen whether or not this movie will follow the Danish film version or end on a happy note.
The movie is directed by James Watkins. Written by Christian Tafdrup Mads Tafdrup, and James Watkins, the movie also stars Mackenzie Davis, and Scoot Nairy.
SPEAK NO EVIL releases on September 13th.
