Top 10 Moments from M3GAN

The year 2023 started with a bang for all horror movie fans.
Described as a campy horror movie, M3GAN did well at the box office as well as gained positive reviews from critics.

There were a lot of fun moments from the movie. Here are some interesting things that happened in the movie.

1) Gemma, played by Allison Williams, is secretly working on a robot doll. When her boss asks for a demo, Gemma confidently activates the doll. Prior to the boss's entry, Gemma and her coworkers were trying on the mask and when the robot glitches, they had been trying to pull it off which they stop doing when the boss makes his entry.

And so when Gemma activates the doll, she looks demented as she talks. Seconds later, she explodes.

2) Gemma is possessive about her things. Cady has just lost her parents and moping around while Gemma is nervous about taking care of her nine-year-old niece.

When she finally brings Cady to her house, the little girl reaches for one of the toys on the shelf only for Gemma to point out that those are collectibles.
When Cady's therapist comes for a visit, Cady remarks that her aunt doesn't let her play with them. Eager to present a good impression, Gemma reluctantly tears open her collectible toy and almost shrieks inwardly when Cady plays with it for a little while.

Gemma tries to explain how the toy actually works but the therapist gives her the side-eye.

3) Gemma finally resumes work on her robot doll when Cady motivates her to during a bonding moment. She successfully gets the doll to work and let's Cady pair with her. At first, M3GAN acts like more of an assistant to Gemma who can't take on a parental role. She lets M3GAN discipline her.
It is fun to see M3GAN regularly try to discipline Cady by reminding her to seriously, flush the toilet.

4) When Cady cries during a presentation to the board members, M3GAN begins to sympathize her and overly protective of her. Which means she doesn't side with Gemma when she tells Cady to eat her vegetable.

Gemma shuts up M3GAN when she begins to offer advice about how kids don't respond to scolding.

Cue M3GAN watching Gemma curiously.

The next day, during a tuning, M3GAN overhears Gemma talking about Cady losing her parents. When she continues to ask questions, Gemma makes herself a secondary user so she can turn off M3GAN.

5) M3GAN takes her role as Cady's protector a little too seriously. When the neighbor's dog drags M3GAN when she is retrieving Cady's arrow, she doesn't mind as such. Her hair is all messed up and she looks comical.
But when Cady intervenes in order to save her favorite new toy, M3GAN has murder on her mind.

That night, the dog becomes M3GAN's first victim.

6) After giving an impressive presentation, Gemma’s superiors are ready to give the M3GAN project a go but they ask her to keep the doll under wraps. Gemma finds that hard to do when Cady insists M3GAN come with her to a camp which was supposed to be an exercise for her to mingle with other kids.
As luck would have it, Cady is paired with a bully called Brandon.

M3GAN comes to the rescue and executes her plan to have Brandon killed.
Afterwards, Gemma’s suspicions about her pet project grows. But she’s not the only one. Cady thinks her new friend may be up to no good.
There’s no proof, though, is there?

7)M3GAN continues her killing spree by picking on the neighbor next. The neighbor did have a vicious dog and afterwards when she couldn’t find him, she sends the police to Gemma’s house.

Now M3GAN is responsible for what happened to the dog but she isn’t going to let an old woman harass the family. That night, the neighbor is brutally killed by the spray of pesticides she would use for her garden. M3GAN is behind it.
Following that, Gemma is certain the doll may have become murderous and checks the video files.

The video files have been conveniently corrupted.

8)An argument between Gemma and M3GAN ensues when the doll suspects her secondary user may be suspecting her for murder. Gemma manages to turn off the doll and take her to the lab to inspect her. Cady throws a tantrum for being parted from her favorite doll.

During a therapy session, Gemma apologizes to her niece for ignoring her and promises to be a better guardian to her. They plan to leave before the presentation, unaware to the fact that in the lab, M3GAN has managed to escape by almost killing Gemma’s coworkers.

9)M3GAN isn’t just Cady’s playmate but her dancing partner as well. And so, while Gemma’s boss is looking for her to start the presentation, M3GAN enters and playfull performs the viral dance that stuns the boss. She then breaks a paper cutter and uses the blade to kill the boss and his assistant.
She walks out of the arena in style, wearing sunglasses, and stealing someone’s luxury car.

10)A literal fight ensues between Gemma and M3GAN with both guardians trying to protect Cady by lying to her about what the noises are.
Cady is smarter than she is given credit for and manages to deduce what is happening. She did make up with Gemma so she is on her side now. She brings along Gemma’s pet project from college, Bruce, which rips apart M3GAN. However, she keeps coming after them causing Cady to take matters in her own hands.

She remembers robots have chips in them and stabs M3GAN’S chip several times until she’s gone.
Except she is not. In the last scene we are hinted at M3GAN having taken over Gemma’s house AI system.

M3GAN was one of those movies that handled horror and action sequences well with a hint of humor that worked well.

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
