Horror News: ODDITY drops an odd trailer

There's something odd about ODDITY, the recent offering from the makers of the CAVEAT. The trailer does give off a creepy vibe that stays with you right until the end.

Oddity is about a woman called Dani who is murdered in her house one night. A year later, her blind, psychic sister resolves to uncover the truth of what happened that night. She believes she can do so by using cursed items from her collection.
Dani's husband and his new girlfriend Yana get involved too.

In the trailer, we see Dani spending a night at a mansion when a man, who is blind in one eye, shows up.
He tells her that she is in trouble and that there is someone in the house, already to hurt her.

Dani obviously doesn't believe him but she turns and clearly senses something.

Cut to some time later, and we meet Darcy, Dani's blind twin, who comes into possession of an artificial eye most probably belonging to the man who showed up at Dani's door that night.

Presumably, the man has also died. Darcy visits Ted who has already moved on with his new girlfriend Yana. Darcy tries to get to the bottom of the mystery of what happened that night. She is certain that Dani would not have opened the door for a complete stranger.

Ted firmly believes that his dead wife is not haunting the house, but clearly something unexplained is happening around these characters.

The trailer doesn't give away any major plot points and keeps the suspense going.

Darcy uses several objects to help her "see". We even catch a glimpse of the CAVEAT bunny.

Darcy ends up using a wooden mannequin from a box which has holes in its head. It seems like an important piece to the whole mystery.

The trailer ends without giving up too much of the plot.

ODDITY was released earlier this year in festivals and has so far, received positive reviews. It even holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Critics have praised the movie for its effectively creating atmospheric tension and find it a refreshing entry to the horror genre.

The movie is written and directed by Damian Mc Carthy.

It stars Carolyn Bracken, Gwilym Lee, Tadhg Murphy, and Caroline Menton.

ODDITY releases in theatres on July 19th.
