Latest Horror Movie News: A24 comes up with two more creepy horror movies this year

A24 is coming up with at least two more unique horror movies this year.

After MaXXXine releases in July, next up is The Front Room.

The Front Room stars actress and singer Brandy who plays a pregnant wife called Belinda. When her husband learns that his father has passed away, he goes back home for the funeral. There, he learns that his father's last dying wish is for him to take care of his mother.

In the trailer, we see the mother is hunched, cranky, and looks oddly like Willem Dafoe. Of course it us actress Kathryn Hunter, but the get up makes her resemble the actor.

Belinda tries to make her mother-in-law, Solange, comfortable at her house, after all they are going to get money from her that can fix their financial issues.

Solange, immediately takes over the nursery and shoos the couple away. Belinda tries to be agreeable but Solange keeps pushing her by making remarks about Belinda's upbringing in a broken family, and that her choice of name for her unborn resembles a plant's name.

Belinda keeps her anger in check but can't help but feel that Solange may be a tiny bit racist and that she is framing her for her injuries.

Even after the baby is born, Belinda finds her mother-in-law being conniving and purposely injuring herself so that she doesn't have to leave.

Can Belinda finally make Solange leave?

Nothing screams a horror movie like a mother-in-law coming to live with you, right?

It's one of those things that perpetuates the notion that in-laws should be kept at arm's length.

The movie is written and directed by Max Eggers and Sam Eggers, and also stars Andrew Burnap and Neal Huff.

THE FRONT ROOM Releases on September 6th.

In other news...

The next offering from A24 is Heretic.

The trailer is the most impressive one you may have seen so far this year. Maybe, after the trailer for Longlegs.

The trailer for Heretic will grasp your attention from the first scene and Hugh Grant's entry will take you by surprise.

Clearly, the actor has left his romantic roles far into the past and is now showing his range as an astute antagonist.

In the trailer, we see two girls going from door to door, asking people if they are interested in learning about religion. They clearly belong to a church and are keen on getting more people interested in religion.

They happen to knock on the door of an older man, played by Hugh Grant, who generously invites them in. The girls are hesitant and tell him they can only enter if a woman is present.

The man assures them that his wife is at home. The three talk about fate for a while after which the man offers to bring him some of his wife's pie. They can smell it baking, right?

Only it's not the pie the girls are sniffing, but a candle with a blueberry pie fragrance. How misleading!

The girls realize the man is up to no good and he reveals he has ulterior motives as well. The girls can leave but they must choose which door to go through. The one that says belief or the one that says disbelief.

The man then promises that the girls will experience a miracle that will make their hearts beat faster and even make them want to die.

The movie is written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods.

It also stars, Sophie Thatcher, Chloe East,

HERETIC releases on November 14th.
