Short Horror Film Review-- Tinder and Tinder 2

Plot: Meeting on dating apps gets dangerous.

Finding true love can be difficult but finding someone to just hang out with can be a little simpler if you use the numerous apps out there.

One of the popular ones, Tinder, has accumulated a lot of users, and some married couples have claimed to have met on the app.

Which is why some people, who are desperate to connect, overlook the usual security measures such as not completely trusting someone you have just met online.

TINDER and TINDER 2 from the YouTube channel ACMofficial serves yet another cautionary tale in the form of a horror short.

TINDER Plot

Nathan drives into an isolated area and stops. He is obviously creeped out by the lack of people around.

He sends a text, informing his Tinder date Skylar that he has arrived. Unknown to him, he's being watched by a woman in a mask.

Skylar texts back that "we're here too." And then immediately corrects it to "I'm".

Nathan turns on his headlights and Skylar removes the mask and laughs maniacally. That should have been Nathan's cue to run but his curiosity gets the better of him.

In the next instant, Skylar is gone and texts him to find her.

Nathan is ready to play the hide and seek game as well and exits his car.

The very next instant, he hears the sound of air hissing from his tires. While someone is obviously prancing around him, Nathan realizes that his tires have been slashed.

He gets back in the car, looks around in panic when Skylar returns, looking frightened. She claims someone is here and Nathan, decides to trust her. He opens the door, let's her in and still doesn't think about calling for help.

Nathan demands to know who is after her and she points ahead. We see the blonde ponytail girl standing in front. She makes her way to Nathan who at this point is terrified.

Behind him, Skylar is putting on her mask. She's on it too!

Nathan turns around just when Skylar pounces on him.

In the sequel, Tinder 2, Skylar and Madelyn are at the playground. Skylar is busy picking their next victim on Tinder while Madelyn is pranking her friend. Their next victim is Jesse who arrives promptly and remarks about the suspicious location.

Skylar plays out the same routine. She practically falls over laughing too as she considers how foolish some men can be.

Madelyn slashes Jesse's tires and he gets into the car. Skylar grins at Madelyn as they ready themselves to get to the next part.

Skylar feigns fear and pretends to be scared of something around them. Jesse lets her in. Madelyn goes around the car and finds...no Jesse.

Skylar is sprawled on her seat and Madelyn tries to wake her up only to find that her friend has died.

Behind her Jesse dons the mask and whispers, "aren't you glad you swiped right?" He then attacks Madelyn.

While it is fun to see Karma being served, it is also creepy to see how many killers are using the app to trap unsuspecting people.

You think you're going to find love, but nope, it's a killer.

The two shorts serve as a cautionary tale about the dangers of online dating.

There's a sense of dread palpable in both shorts and a sense of creepiness that you may not be able to shake off entirely.
